I remember rhodey sharing about how his mother took photo of his father's ear and he described it very clearly to everyone such that we could visualise it. Yixi and Maegan also shared and showed everyone that their ears were like a semi circle.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>5) How would you do this differently?<br>如果这个活动再做一次，您会做什么更改？<br>- having a mat to tell children where to stand when speaking&nbsp;<br>- having a volume meter to have children speak louder for everyone to hear clearly. </div>]]></description>

Use open ended questions/ Provide helping words on wonder wall/ show-and-tell etiquette/ question jar/ 5 senses prompt)<br><strong>Etiquette - </strong>at the beginning of the activity, the children were reminded of the class rules and how should they behave when someone is talking in front.<br><strong>Open-ended questions - </strong>During the session, Ryan were asked questions like "Who's ear is that?" "How did you know it is you father/mother's ear?" "How do take care if your ears at home?"<br><br>4) Describe what went well.<br>We have quite a number of responses from parents and so it make this session possible. For children who does not have pictures, we used the picture from previous activities and cropped it.<br><br>5) What were the children's responses?<br>While Ryan was sharing, other children started to share their own experiences too and the different ways how they care for their ears. Ryan also shared a good observation on how he can care for his ears and shared "My hair touch my ears and it makes my ear itchy. So, I asked my mummy to cut my hair for me so my ears will not be itchy anymore."<br><br></div><div>5) How would you do this differently?<br>I would extend it through game called "Who am I" wherein children will hide behind a curtain with tiny hole that can fit their eyes or ears. Then, the other children will have to make a guess who'w eyes/ears are those."</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The children were tasked to find a simple machine at home and take a picture of it or create a simple machine using recycled materials.&nbsp;<br><br>For this child, since she brought a simple machine, she engaged in a show and tell.&nbsp;<br><br>I used the open ended questions strategy to help her talk more about her simple machine. Through this, the other children were also asking her questions pertaining her simple machine.&nbsp;<br><br>I would provide the children a 'pretend' microphone as some of the children were rather soft during the presentation. Hopefully by doing that, it will give them a boost of confidence. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There were some guiding questions on the display board such as 'Where is this place?', What do you see?', ' What is the person in the picture doing?', 'Who are the people in the picture?'&nbsp;<br><br>During the sharing, I prompted questions and ask the children to describe the environment, the person's attire, assessment of the place and would they recommend the location for their friends to visit. The other children connected to their prior experiences and shared their thoughts too.&nbsp;<br><br>To include other children in this experience, I could have suggested the child to demonstrate some of the locomotor skills such as balancing, jumping from height and sliding as shown in his photographs to his peers.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Post Fieldtrip drawing show and tell<br><br>2. The communication activity I used was called “Going around the world”<br>The children would walk around the classroom and when I say “freeze” the children would have to get into groups of 2. The children will then have to introduce the drawing in hand to their peer and share about the drawing. After sharing the children will have to exchange their drawing with their peers and we would continue walking around the world again. The children will exchange for about 3 more times to explore other friend’s drawings.<br><br>3. I provided the children with rules and steps on how to share their drawings with their friends.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;- Walking feet<br>- Gentle hands<br>- Introduce whose drawing you’re holding<br>- Share what playground simple machine did the friend draw.<br><br>4) The children enjoyed this activity as it involves the children to be on their feet and interacting with more than 1 friend. This was a good opportunity to encourage children to share with their friend in a smaller group setting, setting the base for the children to build confidence for show and tell.<br><br>5) “This is Esabella’s drawing, she drew a see-saw and the see-saw is an inclined plane”<br>“ This is Zhe Yu’s drawing, he draw the playground slide, the red one that we play just now. The slide is inclined plane!”<br><br>6) I would like to extend the activity further by allowing the children to sit in a circle and do a final sharing of the drawing they ended up with at the end of going around the world.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1、展示与讲述<br>2、采用了六何法提出问题，引导幼儿介绍自己妈妈的工作性质。<br>提问：<br>1）你手里拿的是什么？<br>2）这是谁的东西？<br>3）这个东西是做什么用的？<br>4）在什么时候可以用到它？<br>5）为什么要用到它？<br>6）如果没有用这个东西会怎么样？<br>3、幼儿都可以根据问题回答，他说：这是我妈妈的。我妈妈说它可以装很多不同的东西；可以把东西装在里面，从一个国家运到另一个国家；他还告诉我们东西装进去后要把们锁好，要不然东西会掉出来。<br>4、幼儿很自信地介绍自己妈妈的职业，他可以根据老师提出的问题进行回答，只是在回答的过程中声音有点小，语速又有点快，需要老师在一旁引导。<br>5、如果再进行这个活动，会尝试用五官法进行提问。<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) The communication activity used was Picture Talk.&nbsp;<br><br>2) I facilitated the communication activity using open ended questions so that the children were able to share more about their pictures. I also started the session by reminding children of the etiquettes that should be practised by both the speaker and audience.<br><br>3) The open ended questions aided children as prompts. This enabled them to speak more confidently in front of their peers.<br>4) The topic was not as exciting to the children compared to the previous Rescue Vehicle inquiry project topic. Therefore the did not have many questions for the speakers unless someone spoke about ‘Seletar Mall’ or ‘Compass One’ where it sparked excitement in them.</div><div>5) In a follow up activity, I used Google Earth and projected it to the Apple TV. This enabled them to see the street view of our centre and children then asked where were their houses located in relation to our centre’s location. We did the 3D version of the neighbourhood. Perhaps it would have been more effective to let children&nbsp; do their Picture Talk after the neighbourhood was built. Children could have been able to visualise what was shared on a clearer note.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. The children did a show and tell of the simple machine that they build at home together with their parents.<br><br>2. Wonderwall presentation<br>The children played a game where they each got a picture of an item that is of a simple machine. When the game started, the children are to group themselves according to what simple machine they are. Then, each group will take turns presenting their cards and simple machine before sticking it onto the wonder wall.<br><br>3. The children really enjoyed the game and were able to identify the different simple machines their items consist of.<br><br>4. The children were able to share confidently together with their group on their items and their simple machine. The children were even able to articulate when their item were part of 2 different types of simple machines. "The scissors is both a lever and a wedge."<br><br>5. At the start of the game, I would include "going around the world", where the children would walk around when the music. When the music stops, the children are to look for a partner and share about their item and simple machine.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. 看图说话-爸爸妈妈的职业<br>2.我使用了六何发的开放性提问策略，引导并鼓励孩子多提问;展示与讲述的礼仪，鼓励讲述的人在讲述时声音响亮，勇敢自信，同时也借助问题罐帮助幼儿丰富提问内容。<br>3.进展顺利的方面：讲述的孩子愿意在老师的鼓励下大胆自信发言，提高声量，尽量让每个人都听得到，我也会让幼儿坐成一个半圆，更近距离地聆听幼儿的讲述。家长将幼儿说话的内容写在纸上，老师也可根据纸上的提示帮助讲述的幼儿更全面地讲解父母的职业特点。幼儿在活动中，对韵恩妈妈的工作很好奇，因为第一次听说研究员的职业，他们对此提出了很多问题。我将问题收集起来，写在便条上，请韵恩带回家问父母，家长以电邮的方式给出解释，我再将家长的答复图片打印出来，在老师的引导下请韵恩再次像大家讲解。<br>4.孩子们通过这次家园活动，了解了很多不同的职业，他们们得知有的同学的家人是警察或军人时，会在班上和这些同学沟通交流，会模仿军人的样子排队。<br>5.改进：我会专注于幼儿使用准确的华语提问。目前幼儿的提问能够用华语说出关键词，但还不能用完整的话语句子表达。</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>这是我们每周三进行的展示与讲述活动，幼儿从家里带来具有有效期的包装纸袋或者物品来进行讲述。我通过问题罐的方式让小朋友进行讲述，同时，小朋友们也能够通过问题罐对讲述的小朋友进行提问。<br><br>小朋友非常喜欢展示与讲述环节，也有很多小朋友非常积极的从家里带物品来学校讲述。<br><br>一开始孩子们还比较害羞，随着时间的推移，小朋友们都很期待周三，因为有讲述活动。但是因为有效期对孩子们来说非常陌生，在家里家长也不是很能明白这个词汇，所以孩子们都比较生疏，提出的问题和讲述的问题都比较浅显或者无关这个活动。以后再做这样活动的时候，我会多在课程中进行活动梳理，拓展他们的词汇量，让他们在讲述时更加自然。</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1）使用的交流活动是——展示与讲述《我最喜欢的车》<br>2）促进交流活动的策略如下：<br>使用开放式提问——为什么会选择这辆车来做展示与讲述的分享？如果可以，你会给你的车取什么名字？为什么会取这个名字？<br>提供帮助词：车头、车尾、车门、车窗、车灯、轮胎、雨刷、后备箱、挡风玻璃、车顶、后视镜、方向盘、座椅、安全带。<br>5种感官提示：车的颜色？车的声音？车如何行驶？——回力车。这辆车是什么时候买的？这辆车是谁买给你的？这辆车是在哪里买的？<br>3）进展顺利的方面：<br>-小朋友们的兴趣和积极性相对较高。<br>-在帮助词和开放式提问的策略下，展示与讲述的小朋友能进行相对流畅而完整的表述。<br>“大家好！我是亚瑟。这是我带来的小汽车。它是橙色和黑色的。我很喜欢它的颜色，它的车门可以打开，也可以关上，我在里面放了一个小玩具。”<br>4.孩子们的反应：<br>-小朋友们很喜欢车，所以都很兴奋！在亚瑟完成展示与讲述后，老师询问他是否愿意与朋友们分享交换车来玩，在得到肯定答复后。他可以选择坐姿端正，认真聆听的朋友，说出对方的名字后，把车送到他面前。轮流分享玩车。<br>-个别小朋友有偶尔扣脚和捡树叶的行为。<br>-观众里主动举手提问的小朋友一直都是相同面孔：衡宇、敏恩、梓绮、语熙、静恩、婧璇和亚瑟。<br>-部分小朋友在分享时除了自我介绍，其他都需要以问答的简单句来进行。<br>5.如果再做一次，我可能会做以下更改：<br>-提前带领小朋友进行车的组成部分的学习<br>-进行不同车辆的特点和用处的学习<br>-在白板上画出车辆并标注各部分名称，帮助小朋友理解和记忆<br>-将人数一半进行区角活动，一般进行小组的展示与讲述，然后交换进行一次<br>-在展示与讲述前与家长沟通，邀请他们在家里进行陪练<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

Use open ended questions/ Provide helping words on wonder wall/ show-and-tell etiquette/ question jar/ 5 senses prompt)<br><strong>Open ended questions</strong> - I used open ended questions like "Can you tell us who's ear is this?", "What do you use your ear for?", "How can we take care of our ears?"<br><br>3) Describe what went well.<br>描述进展顺利的方面。<br>The children who had been prepared from home were able to share without&nbsp; much prompts. The rest of the children were able to understand the questions and responded accordingly.<br><br>4) What were the children's responses?<br>The children were excited when they recognised their ears on the screen. Some families sent ear pictures of other family members as well and the children were also able to identify which family member it belongs to. Maxime and Naytran were even able to explain that they managed to match the ear to each family member by their physical appearances (wear earrings, wear glasses)&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>5) How would you do this differently?<br>I would like to have a volume meter to encourage children to speak louder. I would also like to conduct the activity in the MPR instead of in the classroom as it might be more conducive for children to speak and hear each other.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I used wonder wall discussion for the activity. The children brought their simple machine crafts thus the use of wonder wall is a good opportunity for them to apply their learning on the topic. I started out with prompting questions - "What is the name of your machine? Which simple machine does it belong? How does your machine work?" These questions were asked prior to the start of the activity and they were given ample time to structure their answers.&nbsp;<br><br>The children used key words found on the wonder wall in their sharing. Majority of them were able to recall the respective simple machines that they created. With their consent, their friends were given opportunity to test out their simple machines. For the next communication activity, I will use wonder wall presentation as well however, I will have them to "go around the world" to share with one peer at a time about their craft/artwork. I believe this will help the quieter children to have a chance to share at a one to one level. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>2. Picture Talk- Xining shared a photo of her eyes. She said "I have two eyes. I have eyebrows and eyelashes".<br>3. Open-ended questions- I asked questions such as "What do you do to take care of your eyes?, "How do you clean your eyes?".<br>4. The children who presented were well prepared. The guided questions helped them to continue on discussions.<br>They shared "I have two eyes", "I have a nose that can smell" and other fun facts like "I blow my nose when I have mucus".<br>5. I think it is better to print these photos and use for learning corner activity or just display on the wonder wall for them to revisit.</div>]]></description>
