Like the book, this video shows how families in the Bronx are neglected when it comes to issues of health and regulations and as a result, children suffer the consequences. This book was published back in 1995 and this video shows events that only happened 8 months ago. This means that despite this book showing these types of issues, it is still going on to this day in 2019.

How this book has helped inform my future instructional experiences-Veronica Nino

This book has helped me to realize that I will have students of all walks of life come into my classroom, including those who live in, poverty, those who have experienced trauma, even students who may be homeless. As an educator I will need to be there support system, not only educationally but emotionally, because sometimes school is the only place that the child can feel safe.
