         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that emotional and behavior disorders do cause academic problems. Many studies have shown that graduation rate and post school job rates are much lower for students with emotional and behavior disorders.  Also, suspension rates and arrest rates are much higher for this population.  I am not surprised by the data found in these two links because this is what I would expect.  I think that race, gender and socioeconomic status do play a huge role and the environment one is from. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The relationship between EBD &amp; academic issues is circular. Either one can arise due to outside forces. EBD can lead to poor academic performance, but struggling in school may also lead students to develop behavioral or emotional issues in place of appropriate coping mechanisms or assistance seeking.<br>It is shocking that AA students are 5x more likely to be misdiagnosed with EBD over autism.</div>]]></description>
