Over 10 million men of different ethnicities were drafted into the army to serve for the war.

Many soldiers during the war were of different ethnicities than the norm. For the U.S. had one million African Americans, 30,000+ Japanese Americans, 20,000+ Chinese Americans, 25,000 American Indians, 16,000 Filipino-Americans, 65,034 Puerto Ricans, and about 500,000 Mexican Americans. Also there were so many African Americans because at the beginning of the war they were used to do things such as get supplies off trucks and what not but towards the end of the war they began to fight for America.

They helped boost the production rates and were motivated by things such as keeping there husbands, brothers, uncles, and what not alive in the war. Many women pushed to do this as they got paid as well at one point they made $150.00 a week just depending on the job they did.

Rationing is the controlled distribution of goods, services, resources, or anything of demand. At the the beginning of the war America was in the middle of coming out of the Great Depression. Because of this the U.S. had to regulate how much supplies or service goes to the military and how much goes to citizens. So such things like this were implemented where citizens only got 2 pounds of sugar per month.
