Martin Luther had one main reason that he wrote the 95 theses. That main reason is because of indulgences and having to pay to go to heaven. Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses on a door of a church. This started the Reformation which was reforming the abuses of the Roman Catholic Church. This started the Protestant Church. Martin Luther was excommunicated from his 95 theses because the church officials didn't like what he was doing.

As he was in "captivity" he wrote the new testament in german and convinced the german princes to stand up to the catholic prince.

There are many reasons to why Martin Luther wrote the 95 thesis. First reason is how the church used indulgences as tickets to heave. Second reason was that the church preached that salvation was only in the church. Martin Luther disagreed with the church because he believed there was salvation outside of the church too. Thus the reformation began

Martin Luther saw what he believed to be corruption in the church like how they were handing out indulgences. An indulgence is basically a pardon from sins that the church would sell to make money for building churches and other things. Marin Lurther saw a problem with this so he wrote about the problems he saw and posted them on the churches door for people to see. The printing press made it possible for the 95 theses to be available for everyone. The outcome was the start of the reformation and Martin Luthers battle with the Catholic church.

Due to the indulgences that were occuring within the Roman Catholic Church, Martin Luther would launch an updated religion with the help of his 95 Theses. An indulgence was a pardon which released a sinner from going to hell if they gave a sum of money to the church. Luther also disliked the relics, or spiritual objects, that many spiritual leaders obtained at the time.

During the 1500's the catholic church was quite a corrupt organization. Selling indulgences to peasants to forgive people of their sins was seen by many such as Martin Luther to be unchristian. The Catholic church and the Pope also had an army which directly breaks one of the ten commandments. The catholic church also preached to people who were often illiterate, not going directly from scripture. Martin Luther believed that each Christian should read the bible for themselves. As a result Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the door of a catholic church illustrating his discrepancies. He was soon excommunicated.
