But as time passes by, his thoughts changes and shifted to a better thoughts of enjoying his life journey, and thing keep on being in his pace after a while of realising it.

I did not dislike it as a whole but there are a few major things that i did not fond of about. Firstly, the cliche plot. I think it is quite boring to make a story where a boy changes due to the presence of a girl in his life. I feel dispise towards Cricket because he only started to change due to his crush, Wynona while along that way before, there are a lot of other people like Mother Mary and his school principal that are always trying to help him to be a better person. Other than that, i dislike the way that Cricket sometimes have this icky imagination towards Wynona, rather than that pure feeling of love that attracts him to her. I do not understand why do we need to define our happiness through other people. Why do we need to acknowledge our life is not that bad, only when we are loved by someone. Despite that, i agree with the way the author wrap up the story by actually due to an accident and the death of Grub, his friend that makes him realizes that he owns a second chance and that he still has a life, no mattter how awful he think it is, because his close friend now, don't even have one. But, at the end of the day, if i think back how it was told, real life story is mostly like that. A boy changes because of women that they are physically attracted to and all these thoughts or monologues Cricket have along the way, is something true, when we put it out of the book. It is real and i understand what the author is trying to capture and share to the world.

I probably would not because i do not think that his writing style is my cup of tea. The story is too straight forward making you kind of already predicted what is going to happen next, thus lacking that element of surprise but, yet, It was a nice reading.

The place Cricket lives is in a Catholic orphanage or group home run by nuns.

The message of the story is to seek for your own happiness in life and enjoying it because we only live once and life certainly is full of ups and downs and it is terrible at some points but its going to be just fine once we realise the true meaning of life itself.
