At this point I started painting with the water color. I was still unsure how I wanted it all to look with colors and other simple details, so I started with the trees. From their I worked on the out line of the upside down girl, the lighthouse, and water. When doing the class walk around I asked for information on background color. This gave me the understanding that a dark "blackish-gray" would fit. I went a little backwards at this part starting with the smaller areas.

For the final part of my project I added the yellow light and snow. A few add ons I did was the coverage at the bottom of the tree. This was to hid the mistake I made with the background bleeding into the tree. I also added more outline then I first planed. This was to make some areas like the trees stand out more and not blend in as much with the background. As well as divide the two sides so each one stranded out on its own. I liked this project for its wind range in areas that the artist could chose how they would like to portray the idea of" lost and found".

1)What are your most significant areas of artistic growth? 2)What artistic struggles did you learn from? 3) As you pursue art for pleasure or maybe even as a future career, what subjects or new approaches would you like to try?

1) Over the time I have been in this art class I have had the most growth in learning how to use different materials. I have been able to expand in what type of materials I used and been able to get a better idea of how to use them to create a particular look. An example would be with this last project using color pencils on a colored paper. I have never used colored paper before, yet I was able to use it to create a little difference in my work. Also with the material of color pencils I leaders how to layer and draw in a light circular motion to have fewer lines.
2) Over time I had different struggles with my artwork. I had struggled with the transfer project and not having the India ink blobbing. Also, I struggled with the hair in the final project. From all of this, I learned how to fix my mistakes, and be patient while finding new ways to go over areas. Also, I learned how to keep mistakes from happening the best I can.
3) I would love to keep trying new materials as I have been, and even different types of surfaces to work on. I would want to keep working on art for as long as I can. I do not really see it as a career for myself, but rather a hobby. I hope to keep working on art and trying new things through time.
