The possibilities are endless. I believe the ethics of such technologies are extremely important. Teaching our students to debate new technologies etc. will be key to their taking responsibility of new technologies in future. Genome modification will be fantastic for cancer research etc. but can also have lasting impacts that could change species in an irreversible way.
As others have said here, the gap between the rich and poor will grow. I worry about what the world will be like in 50 years time due to all these advances in technology - education will be key to these not being abused.

Some people could think that factories will be shutted down, that machines will replaced workers, but workers will be controlling the machines which will make life easy.
Notice that we could reduce accidents, machines could be asigned to those dangerous works, confiined spaces.

In addition to the advancements already mentioned in the vidieo, in my opinion this revolution will entail many other advancements, such as : computers will start to program themselves; medical doctors will put our medical data in a database that will find the right therapy for us in few seconds; gene editing will create improved crops and, of course, cars without drivers will be seen in towns. The biggest challenges will be the unequal distribution of these advancements, the concentration of power in the hands of very few hi-tech companies, and the dependence of our lives on technology, as many other in this forum have already pointed out. I think, in these years, the chemistry has done some major advancements. I'm refering to the so called " Green chemistry " a new way to think the chemistry and the chemical industry to face environmetal, energy and raw materials problems. I think that learning will be more personalised. Teachers will have different role. They will have to use social media or learning platforms to form communities with students. They will provide feedback on individual progress more, become advisers, create resources and educational "events" to enable practice. Teachers will have to teach students to use resources on the internet, teach applications, self-management, collaboration much ore than just a subject. From the teachers perspective it is a major point. I am afraid that this revolution will create social exclusion. There will be students who, although they have access to education, will not have to work, not because they do not have adaptability and training, but because there will be competition from universities. Just recently, I saw an video clip where biodegradable material which is round shaped was used to store the water instead of the normal plastic bottle. I strongly believe we're on the brink of the fourth revolution and we're already living the changes associated to the technological revolution in many ways in our daily life. So, in my opinion, it's crucial to create free-thought spaces to debate and to decide which kind of world we want to build, because technology is available but just people have the right and the responsability of deciding its use. But, I believe education is going to change in a sustantial way. The Fourth Industrial Revolution will entail advancements in multiple fields of medicine, physics and chemistry, engineering, environment care, etc... But, as a teacher, I have to say that one of the most interesting challenges we have to face in these years is the change in education. The way of learning has change in the last decade... Nowadays, people have more information and access to learning more avaliable than ever... Our world doesn´t need people with many academic titles... In my opinion human race is not ready to face this new organization: the inability to adopt and regulate new technologies will increase the inequalities, the fragmentation of society and....we are going to lose the real life value: human contact, cooperation and collaboration with other people.

We live more time and I sure in better conditions. Our health will improve, we'll be more healthy people or at least with less probably to get sick. Therefore people will be more happy.
Many people can lost their currently jobs. A new labor market will appear. People will be able to “reset”, to get technological knowledge for the new jobs. The education of young generations must keep in mind this. But the challenge is identify these new jobs. Obviously, the needed tools will provide from the STEM careers.

I knew that technology is changing and will change a lot our ways of living, but it never occurred to be that we are in the 4th Industrial Revolution Era. That's something that makes you understand that our lives will be so greatly affected by technology that we cannot even imagine. The future is now!!! Thinking about that makes you realize, also, that STEM is critical in our education system and that if we don't keep updated, we will lose a big deal of innovation, which will come anyway from other countries. I hope that one change will come in the Education system because I think that neuroscience can be useful and give a lot of information to teachers about their students. We already know how technology will affect our everyday life (by having smart-houses, living in smart-cities etc) but I think that the education system doesn't keep pace with the other sectors. Apart from this, we have to find a way to live the future remembering the past and remembering who we are!
