Food. This concept of that the citizens give what they don't have a lot of represents how grateful people are. During this time period many families didn't have a lot of money or food. Citizens were so grateful for what Atticus does for them that they sent food, part of what little they have, to him to show their gratitude. Dolphus Raymond. Dolphus is said to be the town drunk who hangs with the Negros. The people want a solid reason as to why he would live the way he does. He is a prime example of how the people of Maycomb "judge a book by it's cover" and how the people may of been wrong about Tom and many others. Balcony. When Jem was gripping the balcony it showed how this case could affect people greatly. Jem was severely affected on how people could be so cruel that he had to grip the balcony to remain in control.

"It Aint Right" represents the fact that the jury should've been more neutral about the situation rather than saying that Tom Robinson is guilty because of his race, when it was clear that there was no way that he could have committed the crime.

These words represent that the court's verdict was not fair, and they knew it. It took the jury until 11pm, which was far too long, to finally decide that Tom was guilty. Some men are born to do unpleasant jobs, which is what Atticus had to do by defending Tom Robinson. Although all of Maycomb knew Atticus was going to lose they still felt for him, especially the black community. When the case was over, they piled his porch with loads of food as a thank you for defending Tom.

This Wordle represents many key words to chapters 20-22. "Some men are born to do unpleasant jobs" this phrase tells the readers how selfless Atticus is and always wants the best for others. "Ewell spit" also shows how selfless Atticus is because he says that if Bob spitting on him means that the children will get one less beating then he'll take it. Lastly, "Revenge" ties in with Bob Ewell spitting on Atticus's face and telling him that he'll get him if it takes the rest of his life. Overall, it describes the unfair trial and unjust ways of the court.

In chapters 20, 21, 22, "Balcony" represents the black community because that's where the black community and Scout and Jem watched the trial. "Final Speech" represents Atticus' final words on the case where he says, "In the name of God, do your duty" before muttering "In the name of God, believe him" (Lee 275). He also mentions how under the court, everyone is equal. "Some Men Are Born To Do Unpleasant Jobs" represents when Maudie said those words to Scout and Jem when they ask why it has to be Atticus to take the case and go to bat for Tom.

In chapters 20-22, the word guilty represents all the counts that Tom Robinson was found guilty on. The phrase it ain't right reflects Jem's words when he is shocked from the verdict because he believes it is clear that Tom Robinson wasn't guilty and knows he doesn't deserve to die. The phrase jury no look represents the jury not looking at the convict. Ewell spit is from when Bob Ewell spit at Atticus when he was leaving the post office. Another term that goes along with this is revenge. Bob Ewell threatened to kill Atticus for basically taking away any credibility Bob had. The balcony is where Jem, Dill, and Scout sat, this was originally the area where the colored people were to sit, but since white people showed up, they moved to the back.
