many people visit Chile because of how unique its landscape is. For example in the north there is the Atacama dessert which is the driest desert which is the driest, non polar, desert in the world and to the south is the Patagonian ice fields which is the biggest ice mass in the southern hemisphere. in the summer which typically ranges from November to January is usually dry and warm. temperatures range from 82 degrees to a low of 56 in the summer. in the winter it is way colder! winter ranges from April to July and is a very wet and can get very cold because of winds and rains blowing off from Antarctica. temperatures range from a max of 72 degrees and a minimum low of 57 degrees.

many families in Chile put money in their shoes and walk around their neighborhood . families believe that doing this attracts luck and wealth. another thing people do is they write down all their bad experiences and burn the paper to symbolize moving forward past those bad experiences. families celebrate Christmas but in a different way than you might celebrate it. on Christmas eve many families like to exchange gifts an eat a traditional dish called pan de Pascua families also enjoy a sweet drink called cola de mono which consist of milk, sugar, coffee, cinnamon, and alcoholic spirits. on Christmas day Chilean families say many prayers carol singing and having a big feast. and on new years eve they have a huge festival with the biggest best fireworks and is know as the biggest festival in the world. the festival is called Valparaiso.

food and music in Chile

there are a lot of food that Chilean families eat. one famous dish is corn pie or pastel de chocolo which is kind of like a corn casserole. Violeta Parra is a famous Chilean musician. she has made many famous poets and made many traditionally ritual songs. about 90% of all music is in Spanish because the number one language in Chile is Spanish. another famous musician is victor jara. ajiaco is a traditional food it is a meat pie that is eaten on many special occasions like Christmas.

comparing holidays

Chile celebrates many holidays differently than I do. for example in Chile people open their presents and exchange on Christmas eve I dint do that. when my family wakes up we open our presents the morning of Christmas. thanksgiving is a very celebrated holiday with festivals here in America we do not go to festivals we just have a big feast. on new years day Chilean people set off a lot of fireworks my family does the same thing for this holiday.
