I really liked you to mentioned the types of learning which will take place within your lesson, during your rationale presentation.
You speak really nicely also and clearly which is great for a student! The inclusion of screenshots of the CAPS document was really smart!

Your slides are very nicely put together and children orientated which is so helpful for attention span of the learners.
I do agree when you said that the teaching and learning phase is the main part of a lesson where learners get a majority of their information, but i don’t think it’s primarily the source of learning for learners, i think they can learn in all phases 🤍 I definitely think active involvement is so vital for an online lesson so i enjoyed how you said this is a focus point for yourself in your lesson.

The rules aspect of your lesson slides was a very smart move, one i didn’t think of doing so i really enjoyed this feature and i’ll remember it for future online lessons of my own🧚🏼‍♀️ I did find the pronouns types (first second and third) a tiny bit confusing at first but when you re explained it again in a slower manner it made a lot of sense.

Your example for a fly for prepositions was a very smart example, i think the learners would enjoy it. Your use of examples throughout the slides was very well done for the understanding of the learners 🤍 I really enjoyed your game and your whole lesson. i do think that a game where they could play from the start would be a good thing to keep them active but the way you did your game was awesome

Thank you for such a fun activity!

Within your rationale i felt like you spoke really clearly and precisely which helped a lot with hearing all facts and details about your lesson 🤍 Your lesson objectives tie in nicely with your overall lesson which is always a good thing.

The way you laid out your lesson within the rationale was good, because i feel like it didn’t overload your lesson with too much information but allows the learners to interact and gain knowledge in a reasonable manner. I like how you added knowledge on the type of groups learners would be in for the different parts of the lesson - that’s helpful for another person if they have to teach that lesson in the future. I love your reason for why you chose to do a conclusion phase, i definitely agree it’s the best way to see if learners grasp the whole lesson before moving on 🧚🏼‍♀️

Your slides themselves are very well put together because they are simple enough for learners to read and understand - but also helpful for a teacher to see what the progression for the lesson is.
I like how you say the two words and then explain them instead of assuming we would understand the word on its own! that’s a good thing for learners of all languages. The use of going over the words in the game before we play is very helpful for learners. Your game was very well done and perfect for learners - i do think for Grade 3 it could be done in a little bit more of a complex way but for a new thing to learn i think it’s good

i really enjoyed this lesson - thank you for making it so interactive 🩵

Rationale feedback:
I really love how detailed your rationale was. You spoke with confidence, you were really calm and well-prepared and that showed in your presentation. Eventhough, it wasn't required and you could present the rationale in any manner of your liking- After seeing your slides in the micro-teach session, I wish I could have visually seen what you had for the rationale as your other slides were lovely! However with this being said, I still was able to follow along.

General Lesson feedback:
Right from the start you were interactive with us and asked us quesions then immediately linked it to the correct answer- I appreciated this as if the learner's guess was wrong it was immeditely corrected and the learners knowledge was then changed. The breakdown of new words was also brilliantly done! E.G. The word Orbit.

What did you like about the lesson:
I really loved how you made worksheeet packs for those learners who arent able to access the worksheet. It was very inclusive!

I definetly learnt something new from this lesson so I can imagine how excited the learners will be when you present it for them.

What can be improved on:
I agree with Jenna, on asking questions directly to learners, eventhough I did the exact same thing in my lesson it could maybe be something for all of us to learn from in future online lessons to ease anxiety amongst learners. However with this being said, when you have your own classroom you will definetly know your learners!

How well did this lesson make use of digital tools for online teaching:
I enjoyed the pointer that you used throughout your slide show presentation. It was really effective and I was visually seeing what you were reffering to, paticularly when you were addressing the planets.

- The chatbox and the microphone tool were evidently present in the lesson. I thought the Kahoot was a clever way to consolidate on the learning processs I just struggled to read the question in the kahoot as I was working in a differnt tab but nonetheless, myself as the user could find better ways to access the site.

What does the teacher need to consider for the f2f lesson:
I think you handled this lesson perfectly on the online space, I would love to see what changes you would make to the f2f session. I was really excited for the teaching and learning phase to follow.

You are going to be a great teacher and I really enjoyed working in a group with you.

Rationale feedback:
Your rationale was clear and concise. Which showed us that you knew exactly what you were going to do through this lesson! Same feedback as I gave to Amy, eventhough, it wasn't required and you could present the rationale in any manner of your liking- personally I would have loved to see something on the screen during the time you were talking as I am a very visual learner however, I still managed to follow along nicely in your rationale.

General Lesson feedback:
Simple but effective as well as clean and to the point is the main thing I took away from your lesson. There wasn't any confusions on what was required of the learners as you guided us along nicely.

I appreaciated the minimal content on your slides because more often than not children get carried away with the very busy slides. That minimalistic, "clean" look thus aided in my ability to focus without distractions. I felt very present and looked exactly at what you wanted me to look at.

Despite being on loadshdedding, you made a plan to still stay connected which is something your learners will be very appreciative of as they can see you are making an effort for them. - You are adaptive, flexible and a quick thinker on the spot.

Further to this, eventhough your lesson was primarily focused on homophones - I liked how you integrated it with other areas of english like "spelling" without actually realising you had done so. Definetly will aid in the incidental learning for the learners!

What did you like about the lesson:
I appreciated how simple but effective the lesson was - It is a good base to work off as a base knowledge for further learning to take place. There wasn't any confusions on what was required of the learners as you guided us along nicely

What can be improved on:
I agree with your comment that you gave myself and Amy, on asking questions directly to learners. I did the exact same thing in my lesson and its definetly something to be mindful of for future online lessons to ease anxiety amongst learners. However with this being said, when you did ask us questions, it was never with the intention to single anyone out but like you say, just something to be mindful of.

How well did this lesson make use of digital tools for online teaching:
Like Amy, I enjoyed the pointer that you used throughout your slide show presentation. It was effective in guiding us to where you wanted us to look and I believe this will be very useful for the learners particularly when navigating the onliine space.

- The chatbox and the microphone tool were effectively present in the lesson. I really enjoyed your planning of the slides having a microphone for learner participation. In this way the learners know what is expected of them and I think it eases them a little bit too!

I enjoyed the tool that you used as it was different to the normal Quiz type game. Which was nice to see.
Would even consider using this platform in an Afrikaans lesson.

What does the teacher need to consider for the f2f lesson:
I think you handled this lesson really well on the online space and I would love to see what changes you would make to the f2f session. I think you considered everything for a f2f lesson in this online lesson (Even extra classes to offer support).

You are going to be a great teacher and I really enjoyed working in a group with you.
