I felt very relaxed and calm while in this class. I felt a sense of expression that I had not felt before as I had not partaking in any form of art since I was a child. This class allowed me to realise that this is a past time that I will be regularly doing to deal with stress and anxiousness. We then used water paint to fill in the empty parts of the page. For me this was extremely interesting as I see myself as a very unartistic individual. I was surprisingly quite proud of my art piece after I finished. My peers also encouraged me to be proud as they complimented me on it. I found that I was expressing how I felt an my emotions through this piece which I did not believe was possible through art. The second half of the session we listened to different types of music while scribbling. As seen in the picture the scribbles varied with each genre of music. My group was giving the topic of bullying. We kept it quite simplistic to allow our audience understand the short story we were portraying. The first scene shows two individuals laughing at a girl, the second shows the 'bullies' attempting to physically harm the girl but I stop them from harming the girl and in the final scene it shows the 'bullies' being laughed at as they were prevented from harming the girl. I really enjoyed this activity as it allowed me to be creative in a way that I have never been before. I enjoyed facing the fear I have of standing up in front of people and performing as it has been a life long fear of mine. The first activity that we were asked to complete was creating our 'social mask'. This involved writing on a mask how we act in public in comparison to how we actually feel when we are alone. This was a real eye opener for me as it made me realise how much my personality can change depending on the social situation that I am in. It made me feel like I need to be myself more in society as I believe that I am fake in so many situations. The second activity that we did was drawing an image that depicts our feelings in each on the seasons. This activity I found interesting as I realised that my mood and emotions are actually swayed by the time of the year. What we focused on was the goals of our participants. We asked them to create a piece which showed their goals from 5 years ago then a new piece with their new goals they have now and finally we asked them to outline the goals they wish to have achieved in 5 years. I feel like as a facilitator I created a nice and calm environment by playing mutually enjoyed music for the entire session. The participants seemed to really get into their work and became very creative by using all of the tools provided. For me this was extremely beneficial as I never see myself as a leader but doing this made me realise that when I am put in the position where I must be a leader I can be which was a massive confidence boost for me. This continued for a while until all the pages were full with creative images. I found this very interesting to see how people adapted to my pieces of art and made the piece even more unique by adding their own pieces of art. It mixed all different levels of creativity together to make one piece. I really enjoyed this as it allowed me see art from the perspective of my peers. The second activity that we completed was related to goals. The left hand was my goals from the past and my right hand was goals that I have at the moment. This was great as it was similar to what I chose to do for my facilitation. However, I did not get to complete this as a facilitator so I got to see what my goals were and how I have progressed from the past.
