Matthias Schlieden was a botanist born on April 5, 1804. Schlieden studied plants and soon came to the conclusion that every single plant he researched had cells. Schwann and Schlieden started working together when they both realized plants and animals both have cells. The argument they had was how the cells reproduced. Schlieden believed it was the free cell formation, and thought they just crystallized. He contributed by discovering all plants have cells.

Theodor Schwann was a scientist who studied slides with animals cells. Schwann was born December 7, 1810. Schwann named a nerve cell after him called the Schwann cells. He also invented re-breathers for firefighters. Schwann came to the conclusion all animals were made of cells. When Schliden and Schwann were fighting he believed that cells came from former cells. His contribution was discovering all animals have cells. He also contributed by discovering cells come from former cells.

Rudolf Virchow was born October 13, 1821. Virchow stepped in between Schwann and Schlieden's feud. He showed research to prove that Schlieden was wrong. But the research was borrowed without permission from Robert Remack, who was Jewish. This lead to an argument between Virchow and Schlieden. His contribution was proving Schwanns theory of cells come from former cells was right, but he used someone else's research to prove it.

With his ability to make glasses, he took and and made a telescope and compound microscope. He is said to be the 1st person to make those inventions but other people are to say that Anton Van Leeuwenhoek did.

Anton Van Leeuwenhoek had heard about the invention of the microscope and decided to make his own. He had made a more upgraded version of what Anton Van Leeuwenhoek made. His invention was stranger looking and they almost resembled glasses. He had tested everything on his new microscope. He even tested the gunk on his teeth and then studied it. He called the small bacteria Animalcules because they were in the shape as some animals. Van Leeuwenhoek was good friends with Robert Hooke who he had started send letters too about his invention.

Robert Hooke used Anton Van Leeuwenhoek's invention to study bacteria and other items. He was studying bacteria when he came across cells. He came up with the term cells because he thought that the lines in the cell looked like jail cellars so he went with cells. He had called out Sir Isaac Newton for stealing his work. When Newton wrote his book and it was published, He used Hooke's words and gave him no credit. The two were in constant argument and we still have no idea what Robert Hooke looks like to this day because it is lead to believe that after Robert Hooke died his photo went missing which we think had something to do with Sir Isaac Newton.
