         <description><![CDATA[<p>These chapters had a lot of information about Ecology. Ecology is the scientific study of interactions among organisms and of relationships between organisms and their environments. It also talked about how Hawaii is the perfect spot for evolution. It says how through natural selection and environmental changes, species can change. If a patch of forest gets split in two by lava to create two forests that are isolated for a long time, then the one species of fruit flies that lived in the one forest slowly changed into two different species.  It explains how organisms might change due to their environment. For example, if the food source or the weather changed; the organism would change as well. </p>]]></description>

Habitat scale also matters for insistence a snake would need less space than an elephant would to live comfortably and free. Some animals like some species of birds change habitats depending on the season to stay comfortable. Habitats are an important topic in environmental science because every creature you are looking at needs something that that environment has there another environment might not have. There are also animals that feed on the tissues of plants and those are called herbivores.          <description><![CDATA[<p>4.3 talks about biomes and the 10 different sections. The biomes are seperated by climate, soil, wetness and dryness. The thing that stuck out to me the most was the rain shadow effect. The rain shadow effect is when moist air moves up to a steep slope, cools and condenses, and then that causes precipitation. It is super interesting to me how complex the earth is and how precipitation can be produced because of a mountain.</p>]]></description>
