"I hope to stir your emotions and awaken your creative mind with my large abstract artworks. I am interested in vibrating energy, waves of light, layered movement, and colors that are able to evoke feelings and express a part of nature. I explore both motion and rest, liveliness and tranquility; the ebb and flow of the constant and every changing rhythms in life. My paintings are joyful expressions of the spirit created with positive energy and emotion. I am incredibly grateful that people from all over the world have come to enjoy my art and make it a part of their lives. I simply want to share the light and inspiration that I receive using my gift of art."

"My painting is based on the fact that only what can be seen there is there. It really is an object. Any painting is an object and anyone who gets involved enough in this finally has to face up to the objectness of whatever it is that he's doing. He is making a thing.. ..all I want anyone to get out of my paintings, and all I ever get out of them, is the fact that you can see the whole idea without any confusion.. .What you see is what you see."

A variety of materials were used in all of Frank Stella's pieces. In "Harran II" he used paint to create a variety of colored lines. In "Fountain" Frank Stella used mixed media to create a collage of different things. He uses line in his more "simple" paintings as well as shape and color to show the different geometric shapes. Frank Stella uses form as well in his more collage-like pieces. In "Fountain" he uses a variety of elements and principles to create a piece that moves your eye. He uses form, movement, line, color, unity and many others.

In the quote I included, he says that he wants people to interpret what they see and not what other people see. He wants everyone to have their own personal connection with it.

I would not change anything about any of his pieces because they look unique and full of unity the way they are now. Jason Cianelli's art could influence my artwork because of the variety of colors and techniques used in his pieces. I personally do not use a lot of color, so when I work on my abstract art I might try to use a variety of colors to show a positive emotion, like Jason Cianelli does in his work.

Frank Stella and Jason Cianelli have many similarities and differences. Both of these artists use a large amount of color to emphasize their pieces. Throughout the pictures I have attached, you can see the amount of color used throughout the entirety of the pieces. Frank Stella uses color through lines and shapes, where Jason Cianelli uses color through organic shapes and movements. Frank Stella's art is more geometric as well whereas Jason Cianelli has no real "shape" to see. Both of the artist's pieces have movement in different ways. Frank Stella uses lines and shapes to make your eye move around the piece and Jason Cianelli uses different marks and organic shapes.
