To create these I open an 8X8 layout in photoshop and create various guides depending on the size required for each picture. Then, I chose my picture and cropped the specific part I wanted to use using the crop tool. I dragged the picture onto my layout using the move tool and made sure it was the correct size for each square. After that I just duplicated the layers as many time as I needed to and rotated them accordingly. I liked how I could make cool looking patterns that were each very unique. My favorite image was my green 2X2 tessellation. The only thing I struggled with was deciding what part of my image I want to use to create these.
