This was back when blacks were treated different then whites. The cross is burning what will happen next? Who will take care of this. Stella wants to and I think she will. The reason she knows this is because the little brother woke her up. 
The reason I choose this book at the library: I saw it and looked at the somewhat summary in the book. Can't wait to read more. And so far cheddar thinks that the first day is really important and some kids are playing outside shouting and arguing making the most of the last day of summer vacation. And cheddar saw her sister Hannah wereing  cheddar new sweater.
