All you need is a measuring tape (or a long piece of string) and 2 pens.  

Get your child to lie down. The adult ‘then measures’ the child, by putting a marker by their head and feet, then stretching a piece of tape as long as the child. Your child can find out how many pens will match this, carefully placed end to end, making sure they are straight, with no gaps or overlaps. Repeat activity with adult. Get them to lie down and place two ,markers and tape.
