         <description><![CDATA[<pre>The human skeleton is divided into two parts: Axial skeleton, formed by the skull, vertebral column, ribs and sternum. It consists of 80 bones. Appendicular skeleton, formed by the bones of the upper and lower limbs along with the scapular and pelvic girdles.

▪︎The skeletal system has several functions: Mechanical support and postural maintenance: The skeleton functions as a rigid structure that shapes the body, maintains body morphology and makes bipedal position possible.</pre><div>▪︎The human skeleton consists of 206 bones classified according to their shape. The axial part is made up of the head (28 bones), the hyoid bone, the vertebrae (26 bones), the ribs (24 bones) and the sternum.<br><br></div><div>▪︎Axial skeleton: it is formed by the skull, vertebral column, ribs and sternum. It constitutes the axis of the body and forms a strong structure that protects the central nervous system and the organs located inside the chest: lungs, heart and large blood vessels.<br><br></div>]]></description>
