The European eTwinning project on forest fires was a deeply enriching educational experience for us, highlighting the importance of our active engagement and participation. Rather than simply receiving information, we became investigators, designers, and collaborators. We took initiative, worked closely with peers from various European countries, and jointly proposed strategies for preventing and addressing forest fires. Through the use of digital tools and collaborative activities, we strengthened our environmental awareness as well as our critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. The project also fostered in us a strong sense of responsibility and active citizenship, encouraging us to recognize our role in protecting the environment and responding to real-world challenges.

Throughout the project, students gained in-depth knowledge about the causes, consequences, and long-term effects of forest fires on ecosystems, climate change, biodiversity, and human life. More importantly, they developed a deeper understanding of the role of human actions in environmental destruction and the necessity of preventive measures. By analyzing real-life cases and discussing possible solutions, students were encouraged to think critically, question existing behaviors, and propose sustainable alternatives.

One of the strongest aspects of the Stop the Flames project was its international and collaborative nature.
