Because if you are going to write about shopping in general, it's too broad - so you need to focus on something. For example, "demand & supply for Orchard area's retail space" or "online shopping". 

Please go ahead to do the demand / supply analysis. If you are going to do any analysis on the demand / supply for Orchard area's retail space, please be careful about who's the buyers (demand) and who's the sellers (supply). Shops or companies which are operating their shops in Orchard area are the one demanding the space, supply is the landlord or companies that own or manage the shopping mall.

So please structure your report as:
1. demand & supply analysis
2. comments elasticity
3. market structure analysis (online shopping = monopolistic competition or perfect comp)
