Daniel Boone is a European man who came over from the Southern Hemisphere. He, unlike most people, befriended the Indians instead of avoiding them. Daniel explored many places. He survived the Indians of Kentucky. He even formed a colony there. I got this information from a biography of Daniel Boone that also won a Newbery Honor Award. The book, though being rather short, gives quite a lot of information. It is in words that a kid our age an understand, and is a truly great choice if you are interested in this time period.
Thanks, Phillip

The book was happy and sad at the same time because it tells a story about a boy and a girl who made a imaginary land called Terabithia, but it was sad because the girl falls off the rope and drowns. I liked this book and would recommend it to others.

Sincerely, Miles Oditt

Dear Ms. Ackley,
A Winkle in Time is an adventurous book, and a book where you wonder what’s going to happen next. The characters are Meg, and Charles Wallace Murry, and Calvin O’ Keefe. They were of to a mission to save the world from the “Black Thing”, and to save Meg and Charles Wallace’s dad. On their adventure, they were guided by Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Witch. They also had many problems, like Charles Wallace getting captured by IT, which was another dark thing, and Meg almost getting caught by the “Black Thing”, In the end despite the problems they faced and the obstacles to overcome, they were able to finish their mission they were put to, and bring home their once missing dad, and save Charles Wallace.
Sincerely,
Mickey Zheng

She would take the babies/infants and raise them to be respectful and loyal. Once in a while she would get a infant/baby and say that they are one of the "Special Ones", Which didn't happen often. When she was in class it was hard for her to hear with her original hearing aid, so she got a more powerful one. That her teacher can wear something that connects to her hearing aid. I chose this book because it is interesting to me and my friend Addy suggested it for me. The book is about this kid named Brian Robeson who went on a plane to visit his father after his parents divorce. The pilot had a heart attack so Brian had to control it but they went off course and crashed into the water. After that Brian has to learn to survive by himself. By the end of the book he starts to learn to use his tools including the hatchet that he got from his mom. I like it because it is adventurous.

This is a great book that shares about a boy named Marty that saves a dog he called "Shiloh" from an owner that didn't treat his dog with respect. Marty protected Shiloh from his owner name Judd Travers. I like this book because it talked about how being truthful to people is very important when bad things happen to animals. Marty ended up earning the dog from Judd and getting to know him as a person. Even though the beginning was sad and hard for Marty, at the end there was a happy ending. I love reading this book because it teaches you how to survive in the wilderness with no electricity or WiFi.
Hatchet started with the boy in a plane on his way to his father. Suddenly his pilot had a heart attack and the plane started going down. He landed in a lake and survived the crash. Later on he found food and shelter. But as he was eating berries he saw a bear and he stood in shock and the bear walked away. A few chapters later there was a turtle that lay eggs next to him while he was sleeping. The next night there is a porcupine and he tried to throw the hatchet but the porcupine released its quill’s and it hit his leg and the quill’s went deep into his leg. The next few chapters was about him surviving with berries. He started to get hungry and made a bow. He did a test shot and the bow broke. The next morning he made a better bow and the test shot worked. He could finally hunt things. The next night he went to hunt fish in the lake his plane crashed in. So he learned how to hunt fish, rabbits and birds. And he stayed like that for a while. He learned to survive and Eventually he got rescued and got reunited with his family once again.

Kai Luhta

Dear Mrs. Ackely, for the second book I read The Black Pearl By Scott O’Dell. This book is about a kid who wants to have a career as a Pearl Diver because he wants to keep going in his dads footprints. But his dad does not want him to go diving yet. So one night he went diving without his dads permission and found the Pearl Of Heaven, he brought it too his dad and his dad said it was worth a fortune and was still mad he went out without his dads permission. And the next few weeks he brought people in to bid for he Pearl. One night there was a terrible storm and his dad had passed on. People say that it was the Pearl that had brought bad luck. But the next day there was another storm. And another. Everyday there would be a storm and that’s when he knew it was the Pearl. He had to return it. One night he went out on his boat and a shadow appeared and he saw it was one of the people who were bidding on the Pearl. He tried to run but the guy was faster and had a knife. He had no where too go. The man wanted him to give them the Pearl so he did. Then they went out too dive again. So he got up secretly, took the Pearl and jumped off the boat and returned it. He swam too shore, told the police and the man got arrested. He then lived a great life. This book is really great because it is adventurous.

Gavin Hosler
The book I read was Holes. It was about a boy getting sent to camp green lake because he got accidentally framed by hector zeroni. They had to dig holes. There is a mystery behind why they had to do this.I think this book was horribly disturbing because there was alot of violence.

Hello Everyone,

I also read "A Wrinkle in Time" By Madeleine L'Engle.
This book was just O.K. to me. It was about time travel which they call a "wrinkle". They use math to travel in the 5th dimension which is the Tesseract. Over time they were able to save Mr. Murray from the Black thing. They needed help from Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which.
See you guys in class !
Donald
