They are arachnids not insects despite some beliefs.

All spiders spin silk though not all spiders make webs.

Spiders have blue blood because they are not connected to hemoglobin.

Sometimes male spiders give dead flies as presents to females.

They are the only group of animals to build webs.

Ladybugs have spots that warn predators.

Ladybugs feed on plant- eating bugs called aphids.

Technically they are supposed to be lady beetles.

Male crickets make music by rubbing their legs together. 

A cricket's ears are its front legs. 

Cricket's have excellent eyesight.

Even though crickets have wings they cannot fly. They can jump short distances.

Wasps can  be eaten by bats and that is the main predator.

They can sting for self defense an unlike bees they can sting ho many ever times they want to.

Only females have stingers which are actually for laying eggs.

Wasps are a help to humans because they eat all the other critters that affect us.

The queen bee is much bigger than the male working bees.

Beetles cannot see very well so they communicate using pheromones, sounds, and vibrations. 

Most beetles only live for  a year.

Unlike most animals, grasshoppers actually hear by using the ears they have on their belly.

Not many people realize that while grasshoppers have very strong legs they also have wings which allow them to fly.

Their powerful legs allow them to jump really far but they only are able to do that because their legs act like catapults.

It is  hard to identify whether a praying mantis is a female or male but it can be done by counting the amount of abdominal segments. 

They have very big appetites and because of that are sometimes referred to as a "preying mantis."

They are called praying because their forelegs are raised up which looks like they are preying.

Dragonflies are in the order Ordonata which means the "toothed ones," which rings true for dragonflies as they have very sharp teeth.

The area of a dragonflies' head consists of all facets which are like eyes for them.

Since they lay eggs in the water they are able to live underwater for two years.
