2. How is your progress? – Now I have progressed to learn useful skills to supplement the digital marketing skills which is Beginner Google Analytic Skiills. I am also learning other Google tools such as Google Keyword Planner, Google Adverts and etc.

3. Points to remember from week 2 !- The ability to visualize data is vital in our current age, where data will supplement us with important decision making skills. Other than that, As I explore, I realised Google supplied a lot of tools namely Google Ads which are actually a mandatory skills to have as the most used search engine is usually Google hence to market a business Google tools are essential to help in businesses

4. Your feelings & thoughts - I am feeling challenged, as to navigate Google Analytics is not as easy as It was a relative new platform for me. However, I realised such challenge to learn is the one that is driving us to be productive as learning is a lifelong process.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now! – I am able to apply the basic skills data visualisation and data interpretation skills!

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope? – Yes, as Google Analytics is something rather new for me, hence I have to learn certain terms to further understand how it operates. I have also no prior business experience, hence I would have to visualise and find examples in order to make sense of the given course. However, the layout plan of Google Analytics and the learning plan of the course was effective enough with the interactive platform to learn. The enjoyment of the process of learning is also an essential driving force in coping.

8. Your plan for next week (Week 3) – I will further explore certain basic skills on digital marketing and also to learn other Google tools available.

2. How is your progress?

I have learned how to properly clean a durian and sorting the durians.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

A complete durian should have a stalk attached to the husk. The stalk is fragile and therefore should be handle with care when cleaning the durian as the stalk is the indicator for freshness and contribute to the weight of the durian. After done cleaning the durians, the durians will be sorted basically into four grades: A, B, C and D. As for grade A, the criteria are good spherical/oval shape, has at least 4 ‘pangsa’, high flesh output. Grade B, good spherical/oval shape, has at least 3 ‘pangsa’, lower flesh output than grade A. Grade C, irregular shape, small in size, low flesh output. Grade D is classified as bad durians, such as contain wormholes, cracked shell, unripen, bitten by animals and etc. Lastly, the sorted durians will undergo second sorting, this time is by types and size, where the price is determined.

4. Your feelings & thoughts
Cleaning durian is the easiest skill ever in the durian business whereas sorting the durians needs lots of experience and knowledge. In Penang alone, there’s many types of durians to recognize. It is difficult to learn it theoretically as it is difficult to describe the features by words. Next, detecting defected durians is also important to make sure that the durians provided to the customers are high in quality.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!
With these skills, I’m able to recognize many durians so to avoid getting scammed by durian sellers so that I don’t buy kampung durians with the price of Black Thorn or Musang King in the future.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
Difficulty in recognizing various types of durian is the pain for a new learner like me, but luckily the boss is willing to teach me and allow me to observe the process of sorting durians every day, Things get easier when we doing it practically as if ward rounds in HUKM.

2. How is your progress?

During the 2nd week of EP, my team and I had finalised our product idea. We decided to make an application that can help medical students to practise their clinical skills. Other than that, with the knowledge gained from watching the recorded lectures, my team and I constructed our business model canvas and carried out our market analysis. We also had a mentoring session with Encik Firdaus, a “pegawai penyelidik sosial”. During the session, we discussed on the viability of our appllication idea according to the current market trend, and went through our business model canvas and SWOT analysis.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

Market analysis is very crucial to be done before coming out with a product. By doing this analysis, we will know the current industrial value and projection, market trend, market feasibility as well as market need. Therefore, with these data, we would know what kind of product should we sell and what value should we add to the product to make it sell.
For every business, we should have a clear exit strategy of choice after we had developed the product. This is to ensure that we will get the highest return possible based on our capability to sell the product. Some examples of exit strategy are licensing, outright sale and startup business.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

I feel motivated to seriously learn about application development and entrepreneurship, and apply the knowledge to develop this business. So far, I can see that our application has the potential to go further. Being realistic, I do not target to launch the business and make profit anytime soon. However, I am interested to see how far my team and I can carry this business.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

I did a lot of online researching for our application and along the way I had learned about online researching skills. This online researching skills can immediately be practised in my daily life to have better search results when searching for information, to get answers for any of my queries and to ensure the reliability of the facts gathered.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

I came across a lot of terms that I did not understand during the lectures as well as the mentoring session. Due to this, I could barely understand the lecture given or the points that were being conveyed by our mentor. To overcome this situation, I went to search for the meanings of those terms after the session. I would also play the recorded lecture repeatedly until I understand the topic. As an additional initiative, I also searched about the topic online to aid my study.

EP week 2: Wee Wen Hui

2. How is your progress?
This week, my business partner (Calvin Tan) and I have progressed into boosting our shopee sales. We watched some youtube videos on tutorials and business tactics as small business owners. We joined shopee 8.8 sales by using keyword ads. When buyers search certain related keywords, our products will appear at the top of their lists. We managed to get some sales this week and we are really satisfied with our progress.

3. Points to remember from week 2
We discovered there are several types of promotion ads on shopee:
- Keyword Ads show our products at prominent positions on the search results page when buyers search for keywords that I have bid for. This helps to give our products more exposure.
- Discovery Ads showcase our products in multiple sections of the Shopee platform to buyers interested in similar products.
- Shop Ads will show our shop at the top of the search results page. From there, we can decide which keywords our shop ad will show up for.

4. Your feelings & thoughts
Honestly, I have never expected myself to be a small business owner and involve in entrepreneurship. I am really glad that i am able to step out of my comfort zone and exploring new skills.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!
I am able to stop myself from impulsive buying on shopee whenever there is shopee sales. I learnt that shopee sales and ads are just some business tactics. I am also improving myself to be a wiser consumer.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
Yes, for sure there is. I had some disagreements with Calvin Tan on the management of our shopee account. Both of us are working part time this semester break and we have to squeeze some time out to manage our shopee business. At last, we discussed and finally we were able to reach to a consensus where we both will monitor our shopee account every alternate days.

As for week 3, we plan to explore more ways to maximise our sales. We will try to set up other types of shopee promotion ads. We also plan to consult friends who has done dropshipping business previously.

This week, my business partner, Wee Wen Hui and I have boosted our shopee sales. Before that, we get some informations from youtube videos and website in starting a shopee ads. We tried using keyword ads and this works when buyers search certain related keywords, our products will appear at the top of their lists. We managed to get some sales at the end of this week and we are satisfied with our progress.

Shopee sales and ads are just some business tactics to make people to shop online. I am improving myself to be a wiser consumer by not buying anything that i desire, but rather think wisely do i really need it?

In second week, we manage to find suppliers for our ingredients and also the packaging. We found the supplier in the shopee because they can offered us cheap price. In addition, we also do some photoshoot for our product and edit those images so it will look appropriate to be advertised

We learn that advertising is the main important part in business in order for people to recognize our product. so we decide to make poster that suitable for our product

I feel insecure at first because this is my first time doing business with my friend. business need effort and energy sometimes I do feel tired of thinking about it.

communication skills, because we also do some bargain with supplier to give us cheap price for our ingredients and packaging.

during the progress we do face problems of not enough money to pay to our supplier but how we cope with it is we borrow some money from our parents, with promise to pay back their money.

^{This week , me and my business partner start by designing our own sticker and we manage to find supplier for bottles and sealer from shopee. We compared the item from the aspect of price and quality so we can give the best for our product .As together with that , we also start to design poster for advertisment thru instagram and shopee. 2. How is your progress?

We finally decided on the application idea which was to develop an app to help medical students practice history taking. We came up with the idea when we were in quarantine and not allowed to go to the wards, it inspired us to come up with a solution that is now known as the app “Med-it”

Besides that, my team and I completed the business model canvas which was necessary for our mentoring sessions and to track our progress. The first mentoring session we had was with En Firdaus from CESMED Bangi where we discussed regarding our idea, how to properly execute it and Intellectual Property.

3. Points to remember from week 2

Registering our intellectual property is important to protect our product/application from being stolen or reproduced
Business model canvas is used to analyse and strategize every aspect of our business such as revenue stream, target audience and partnerships
SWOT analysis should also be done beforehand to identify our weaknesses and strengths for improvement

4. Your feelings and thoughts

I was curious about many things as it was my first time venturing into the field of business and marketing. However, I felt a little bit stressed out as I was in charge of the creative works of the application. I was already starting to sketch the interface design of the application and I wanted it to be as how I envisioned it in my mind which is to be honest, not realistic and beyond my set of skills. Therefore, it made me frustrated when I could not match my own expectations.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now

I can understand and explain regarding certain business specific terms when talking to someone regarding application development. It gave me a boost of confidence to learn something new that is outside of my field of study.

Most importantly, my creative design skills has expanded by trying out new design softwares such as Canva, Figma and Photoshop when we were trying to come up with a design interface for Med-It

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

I was just concerned about how I would get started on designing the app interface. I got some inspiration on how to design the interface by going on pinterest, downloading similar medical applications and by making a poll on instagram to get input on what colours would suit Med-it

2. we finally decided on what we want to do and my teammate have finish designing our app logo (picture above). we also already slowly start to do our app prototyping using Figma because it is user friendly.
we also have discussion on business model canvas and SWOT analysis for our product. we have one mentoring session with En Firdaus from CESMED where he share his insight on our product, giving constructive comments and sharing knowledge regarding intellectual property, patent and more.

3. things to remember, when starting a business or try to sell and product, BMC and SWOT is a must because it help in expanding the business.

4. this week i feel really excited because we already start doing our prototype so we can see our vision into reality. i also never knew that business is more complicated than it seem.

5. i now can practice to use BMC and SWOT analysis in the future if i want to open my own business. i also can use SWOT analysis for other thing such as doing project or even myself because we can understand more from it.

6. my concern is how fast we can make our app because despite figma being an easy tool to use, it is still take a lot of time to learn and as a non creative person, designing is hard.

2. We came out with our plan for the project which is to do an app that can benefit us as medical students called Med-It.It was quite challenging since we need to make sure that the app is unique and beneficial. We were given lectures about Business Modal Canvas and Figma which is a website to design the prototype. We also had our first mentoring session with En Firdaus who helped us carry out our idea and answer any questions we had in mind such as regarding medical ethics and confidentiality.

3. Before we starts our business, it is important for us to first come out with the Business Modal Canvas. This allows us to visualise what we need to consider before starting a business in general. We had actually learned this during our CESMED module so it was quite easy for us to understand how to create it.

4. Since we finally came out with the idea, I was very eager to start developing the app. It was fun to see my groupmates sharing ideas on how to design and develop it. I cant wait to see the end-product of our app, Med-It.

5. I can now use different type of websites that are very helpful in designing such as Canva and Figma. Eventhough, I am not good in art but they are a lot of templetes and examples on the internet to look at for ideas.

6. To develop our prototype, we use Figma as our main designing tool. Despite the lecture given, I found it hard to navigate so it took me some times scrolling through the internet to look for any tutorials. Thankfully, I had my groupmate who helped me when I was completely clueless.
