         <description><![CDATA[<div>From what we have learned, gaming is taking over a lot of different aspects of life. It is our responsibility as educators to get our students ready for the next step whether that be their careers or college. Testing the student's knowledge of the content while making a game in the process is a fun and exciting way to test their skills.<br>In English, they might create a game telling a story about the book they just read.<br>In Science, maybe they show a Volcano erupting.<br>In PE maybe they show how to play a certain game.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ask a CEO of Fortune 500 company what skills they want potential employees to have and the #1 is problem solving and&nbsp; #2 working in co-operative groups.<br><br>I personally do not believe that Scratch is coding but learning logic, (discovering I do not have much, lol). Helps students learn to read, write and interpret expository writing which is applicable in every subject - Math, LA, Science, SS and all Exploratories.&nbsp;<br><br>Also useful for State test taking strategies of focusing on every detail,<br>&nbsp;developing high order thinking&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Coding follows a procedure to begin with and you must use troubleshooting skills to fix problems.  Coding also helps student understand that failure is just a step in the learning process and is not a reason to give up, but a reason to step back and see what can be change to achieve the goal or change the goal.</div>]]></description>

Reading commands and thinking about what they will do or what's missing takes reading comprehension. Depending on the parameters for designing the game it could easily require knowledge in any subject area.</div>]]></description>
