About 40 years ago the city hall of this town in Zaragoza forgot to ask for the legal permits necessary to hold the running of the baby bulls. Their solution? To let a bus "run" through the town, as if it were the bull. The local youth ran from it, and since the idea was a success, the town decided to get rid of the bulls in subsequent editions of the event, too! It may seem a little odd, but we assure you, it is much safer to be pursued by a cautious driver honking the horn than by a runaway bull.

In Brazil, the Yanomami tribe has a curious tradition to honor their dead: eating them. They do it because they believe that this will save the person's soul, and all the family members participate by eating a part

Polterabend, meaning ‘wedding shower’, is a unique tradition in Germany that is generally held the day before a bride and groom are due to wed. It’s a big party where friends and family gather at the front of the house and smash things on the floor such as; plates, flowerpots, tiles, anything that makes a lot of noise in order to bring good luck, the only exceptions being glass and mirrors, of course.
