As the novel begins, the narrator, Scout, characterizes her mysterious neighbors, the Radleys. Scout narrates an event that changed the lives of the Radleys and their son, Arthur. She quotes that, “ [w]hen the younger Radley boy was in his teens he became acquainted with some of the Cunninghams from Old Sarum, an enormous and confusing tribe domiciled in the northern part of the country, and they formed the nearest things to a gang ever seen in Maycomb.” (Lee 10) In the text, when the author reveals Boo Radley, she states the diction choice of teen, Old Sarum and Cunningham. He was a teen in which means he was still maturing and not making the best decisions for himself.
Finish reading HERE
