It is called an secret war because no one  never knew about the Hmong peoples and they were apart of the American and Vietnam War. The Hmong people's got involved with the war because they happened to live where the war fought and got asked to help by the Americans. When the Hmong people joined the Americans, everything became a mess. The American's started to loose and Hmong villages were being destroyed. Because of that, "parents fled with their families on foot, walking for days toward Thailand, plagued by starvation and disease" (Vang). After the Americans left the Hmong's alone, the Vietnam peoples began to hunt the Hmong peoples like a bunch of hungry lions.
