It's so interesting, I had never seen a vertical farm before, is a large process, it's interesting because that is a new way to cultivate vegetables because the plants don't need sun ligth, they only use lights and fans, and the plants grow very well without alot of water or land. The vegetables are using to eat in schools and also the company sells to supermarkets. In El Salvador I didn't heard about vertical farms but in supermarkets I saw that sell vegetable trays. I think that in the future in El Salvador people will create vertical farms.

Andrea Vásquez

Well, vertical farms are a new way to cultivate. According to the video, they were used in schools to teach students the basics of biology and nutrition. It is a different way to cultivate plants and it has a lot of benefits. Vertical farms are a faster way to cultivate. It saves water and time. There are some pros and cons but it seems like it will take place in the future. Also, as far as I know, there aren't vertical farms in El Salvador but I'm sure this new way will be applied in a lot of countries in some years.
Jacqueline Carias.

How vertical farms work, are they advantageous?
Well, it's been a good advantage for the community of New Jersey because it was a job opportunity for many people within the community, also it was a way to teach something new about vertical farms in some schools in the city. This vertical farms represents the future of the food, because is a fast way to provide the necessary amount of specific crops.
Is there any farm like that in El Salvador?
I've never heard about vertical farms before, probably there aren't any vertical farms here in El Salvador. But in a near future it could be an option for produce or grow crops.
Sofia Marroquin

Vertical Farms
How vertical farms work, are they advantageous?
I think that the vertical farms have a lot of one is they have a higher productivity in a small area and growing quickly, they don't use pesticides for the plant and is so healthy for the body, and the most important this type of plantations produce a lot of jobs and also the main reason for teaching to children in the school is because in a future it will be to more common than nowadays, the people want to be try new ways to produce healthy food.

Is there any farm like that in El Salvador?
I've never heard about that in the country but I guess that in a future the people will make vertical farms maybe in a 10 years if they investigate the pros and contracts about that.

1. How do vertical farms work, are they advantageous?

Well according to the video that I have seen the vertical farms work through the cultivation of some seeds into a special fabric, which has to be constantly illuminated by special lights because these LED lights function as the replacement of the sunlight. On the other hand, I would say that this new method of cultivation is advantageous because it doesn't need land, pesticides or much water and at the same time it offers everyone the possibility to grow up their vegetables wherever they are.

2. Is there any farm like that in El Salvador?

I would say that no because I have never heard about the existence of them in our region but, I think that it can be a good idea, and jointly a good way in which the farmers and us as a population can rebuild and modificate the traditional way of cultivating.

María Nerio.
