Having read chapter 12 of Tuck Everlasting, read the lyrics of the song in the video. What connections do you see between the lyrics of the song and Tuck's speech to Winnie?

Angus tuck says that the world goes round and round people are born people die but the tucks will never die which means that if people find out water will go to the ocean and crops will be planted but people will stop growing. In the song it says there is a time for growth but also death. A line in the song is "a time to plant a time to reep " which means there is time for life and time for death. ( PS me to Harry )

The song and the chapters are both talking about an endless cycle of life. Things are born, grow, and die and new things are born. Crops are planted in Spring, they grow in the Summer and are harvested in Autumn and then more crops are planted. Rain falls and runs to the ocean in rivers and turns to rain again. This is the wheel and like in the song it turns and turns.

The song is about one vast interconnected circle, which never ends. Similarly, Tuck explains to Winnie that everthing has its own time and value and when that value expires it drops off making space for new life. Therefore there is no need to mourn the end because new life will replace the old, like a never ending cyle as constant as the seasons. However Tuck was immortal and was stuck like a rowboat in weeds, unable to move along the ripples of time.
