Rice is Cambodia’s major food crop and principal food. Rice is grown in almost all provinces in Cambodia but is particularly cultivated in Battambang as it is close to the river. Since we only produce one rice crop per year, rice is usually used to either feed farmers (subsistence farming) or used to feed livestock to be sold. There are some commercial farming of rice but these are usually small in scale.

In Guangdong, most of agriculture type is Mulberry Fish Pond. Since most of Guangdong is a special terrain of hills, farmers dig ponds in the area and raise fish in the ponds. As for the fish feed, it comes from the excrement of silkworms, because farmers are also growing mulberry trees and crops near the ponds while they are raising fish, and they are raising silkworms on the mulberry trees. In addition, some farmers will raise poultry by the pond, which makes the ecological diversity here more abundant.
