I went to this thinking of it only as a priority because I am required to do it but I left knowing how much I need to help those who are less fortunate than me every chance I get, understanding how lucky I am to enjoy the circumstances I'm in, and contributing to my community in any way I can. Throughout all of the painful hours of labor, taking orders, going to different locations, trying to find more people in need of help, preparing food, and anything else I could do to help everybody working and everyone in need I realized that donating your time and work for free has many more rewards than what it truly is. I also learned how to overcome the inconvenience of all that this causes because in the end the things that truly matter cannot be overshadowed by my irrelevant priorities. Being that I have a job during the week I cannot give time after school however on the weekends for the forthcoming holiday season I definitely intend on attending any and every occasion that I am allowed go help out on. I learned many life lessons as well as a multitude of valuable habits and ideas.Such as making do with as little as possible because you never know if you'll have as much of a positive direction in life. Even when you're on the very top you must always consider one day you could make one bad mistake and end up at rock bottom. One of the biggest mistakes we make as humans is getting used to a lifestyle which is of prosperity and comfort and becoming so numb to our decisions that we forget how to conduct ourselves in the way that lets us enjoy our beautiful divine way of life.]]> 2018-12-07 00:40:20 UTC https://padlet.com/tlthieneman/lt87cpjpwmtv/wish/312082983 tlthieneman https://padlet.com/tlthieneman/lt87cpjpwmtv/wish/312103120 Over the course of my community service I did just about anything I could to help out all of the other volunteers, and those in need that we were assisting. Throughout the 2 days I volunteered, I assisted in cooking,I helped organize clothes, I helped bring in the new clothes whenever we received them, we helped feed the homeless with snack bags by walking around and handing them out to anybody who needed them on the street, and we went around to clean up trash in the J-town area  just to name a few. One of the reasons I love exit 0 so much is because of the endless love and comfort everyone spreads just by being in attendance. As you might expect there's hardly ever any negativity or complaining to be heard. Everyone Is there for their own reasons and it's only volunteers so it is for no pay whatsoever. It's a very hard and stressful place to find yourself due to the nature of it all. When you consider all the hunger, pain, loneliness, poverty, anger, loss, and solitude, it's very hard to have an unconflicted and peaceful outlook at it all. We don't volunteer because we want to, we do not do it for respect or happiness or any self emotion, we do it because we have to. Were all they have left. Without us they would be nothing. And for some that thought can slip right past them and they say well someone else will do it. They say It's not anything to worry about because there some place for them to go and there are surely some people to help them achieve that. Well that's us. Were the ones who took action.
