2. I also learnt that darker brushstrokes are harder to see, and lighter ones are able to emphasise points better.

3. One more thing that I learnt is that when painting the beard, there still needs to be emphasis of brushstrokes and shading.

1.) I have discoved that working with oil paint is very difficult and I had a hard time adding different colors to already wet paint on the canvas.

2.) I also found that depending on how much lynseed oil thats applied comes out very different in terms on thickness on the canva.

3.) I also noticed that using different brushes and brush strokes really changed the appeal/affect it has on the artwork/painting. As well as how it would change and morph it in different ways.

• I have leaned to better incorporate color into my drawings, adding under layers and complimentary hues to better make my artwork more realistic and organic

• Another thing I have discovered in the duration of creating my experimental piece was the use of linseed oil, which allowed for lighter versions of colors to be created

Overall, I enjoyed the process of my experimental piece, and I felt that I was able to learn a lot of new skills that will be beneficial towards creating my final product.

Tips:

• start off with a light consistency layer and dark colours

• Progress with thicker consistency and lighter colours

• Brush strokes determine the depth of the area, pay attention to the desired shape of the area

• In my piece, I forgot to consider the consistency and if linseed oil was needed or not

• Use blocking to paint shadows and highlights depending on the layer

• Start off with a light and dark colors

• Use different brush strokes

• Start the toning and shadow after the first layer done

• Mixing the correct colors and done make it too dark.

• Start off with the thin pain which a darker shade of the paint

• I used a different shade of the paint to create shadow and make it realistic (3D)

• Pay attention to the disres shape area

• When you’re doing the first layer don’t be scared to add linseed oil.

• Focus on darker values before lighter ones.
