Soden’s works of industrial cities are most interesting to me. The scaffolding depicted in the construction sites make me think of an exoskeleton and the inside of the building being on the outside. I am reminded of the Pompidou Centre designed by Piano & Rogers.

The artist works with minimal forms with exciting glazes and textures on the outside of the pieces.

James Turrell

There are 80+ Skyspaces world wide. I have chosen Tremeneere Sculpture Gardens as I visited it in person.

Turrell creates a frame to control and influence our perception of the subject: the sky.

I find the relationship between the light source and the light projected onto the interior wall particularly interesting in this image.

On the Left, the plant pot was looking up at the ceiling of my studio. On the right, the plant pot was outside, looking up at the sky, trees and a building.

To develop further by devising a method to keep the viewfinder stable.

This piece links strongly to my chosen artwork James Turrell’s ‘Skyspace’.

This was not as effective as the video using a cone, where a space was created and sound was amplified.

Throwing the shape on the wheel would provide a regular, sharp edge through which to film.

The subject is not as interesting as the first film as the balance between blue sky and cloud is not as good, therefore, the same effect is not achieved

Filming glass was challenging and this piece would need further development if continued. The camera struggled to find a focus which has a negative impact on the external stillness I was aiming to create in this film.

This image opens up an idea to me of a time lapse film or stop frame animation of images taken at different times of day, studying the light projection. This would require a sunny day to be effective.

I need to try and film a sky I am aiming for in the early morning as I feel the prominent bird song amplified within the cone makes the most effective video.
