I would use "Assign Posts to Specific Students" to differentiate assignments for my classroom in a discrete manner. This would allow me to not only help those students who are struggling, but also would allow me to challenge the students who are doing well in the classroom.

I would certainly use "Posting to Multiple Classes" as I am a high school teacher and have multiple sections of the same course. I could see it being problematic if I was trying to differentiate as it sounds like the only option is to assign it to everyone. Perhaps for a bellwork assignment?

I would use "Creating Topics" definitely as there are massively large modules in Algebra 1, and it would certainly be helpful to have them organized for students as I have them organized for my own sanity.

I would use "Assign Posts to Specific Students" as a tool to differentiate assignments and or expectations. As I get new students throughout the year that are not yet familiar with the English language this will allow me to vastly modify assignments between students without students having the ability to easily see the differentiation, which help the focus remain on the specific task rather than where that student is compaired to their classmates.

I would use "Saving a Post as a Draft" when wanting to start planning ahead. This will give me the ability to modify it according to where the students are in the lessons leading up to it. Perhaps we are ahead of schedule in class. This also gives me the freedom to post the assignment earlier than anticipated.

I would use "Reuse a Post" when I needed to either edit a post that otherwise can not be edited or to revisit a topic. This allows me to quickly fix mistakes and/review a topic easily.

I might also want to archive a class that was taught previously but then was altered in a way such that I would need to reconstruct documents and materials. Keeping an archived classroom will provide a reference as well as comparison between the older classroom and a more current version. I would also use the post to some students in the event that I would like to differentiate and/or provide additional opportunities for learning. The State has asked that teachers ask "higher level" questions that require our students to make connections and reflect. This is a great way for the teacher to keep a pulse on the students and make changes in the lessons when necessary.

I would use the schedule and save draft more than anything else. I like to lay out my week in advance and have everything ready to go. I hate prepping the day before or day of and like to have my stuff done ahead of time. With the schedule I can set up projects and assignments for the whole unit.

I really like the assigning to individual students as well. I like to differentiate my lessons for students whenever possible and this allows me to change assignments for different students or include extra resources for some without the embarrassment of giving extra papers to students having difficulties. It's also much less noticeable when I give extra work to students that are having an easier time and need more of a challenge.

The archive class feature seems like something else I would use. I save all my materials from every year and I've taught 3 different classes since starting at Rochester 2 years ago. I really like being able to hide a class from view without having to delete all the work.

Its a great way to keep track of questions for each chapter and you can do open ended or mult choice. Then you add a topic/chapter for each part of the book and keep everything organized even more. This is a new feature for me I didnt know about and am excited to use this year

Creating Topics: When I have multiple assignments in one unit I like to create a topic so that my students are able to choose the topic rather than having to scroll through the feed to find their assignments.
Posting in multiple classes: As a high school music teacher, teaching multiple sections of the same course, reusing posts between classes has made my life SO much easier. I can post it in one class and then just reuse a post in another.
Assign posts to specific students: This is something that I haven't used yet but am looking forward to using this school year. I plan to have a classroom for my middle school instrumental students for them to input written work. Being able to assign to specific students within one class allows me to individualize based on instrument and their skill level. Or create a class with all instrumental students and then post assignments for specific lesson groups.

1. Assign an assignment to a specific student: This option will allow me to differentiate assignments easily. I can assign different tasks to each of my guided reading/math groups that would best meet their individual needs/levels.

2. Saving a post as a draft: This option will allow me to work ahead on assignments and/or make changes before finalizing them and assigning them to students.

3. Creating Topics/Sorting by Topic: This will help me organize my assignments easily. As a 2nd grade teacher, I would create topics for each subject/unit (ELA Skills unit, Listening and Learning Domain, Math Module, etc.). This can also help for organizing grades by subject.

1. Posting questions- this option is great as an opening for discussion. I can find video clips or articles or images that the students can view and then offer a question to get them thinking and talking about the topic and their thinking about it.
2. Assigning posts to specific students- this is a great way to differentiate a question- with the students that need a little more concrete thinking you can be more specific and for those who are more abstract you can offer them a question that aligns more with their thinking. You can also use this feature to discuss different books or topics and to connect on information at an entry point appropriate to each group.
3. Moving a post to the top- this would be a nice feature to use to highlight some thinking of a student or to enable more discussion around a question or point made by a student.

Fatima: 1. Assign posts to specific students: I love this method!! I think it would be great to help differentiate activities for my students. Posts assigned to specific students will only be visible to those students, which will help me discretely differentiate my lessons.2. Creating Topics and Organizing by Topic: Creating topics will help my students better navigate the assignments. Organizing by topic will help me and my student access the material in an organized manner. It will also help my students understand which topics are related to one another based on their organization. 3. Save posts as a Draft and Assigning a Draft Post: This topic is helpful for planning and assigning activities. Saving a post as a draft allows me to plan an activity and come back and review it prior to assigning it. If I fall behind on my pacing, I still have the post saved as a draft and I can go back and alter or tweak the assignment before posting it.

1. Creating a topic and organizing topics: This is such a helpful tool to help organize assignments based on modules. I can see myself making topics for the many ELA module topics we cover like 'Frogs' and 'Peter Pan' so that I can easily find assignments.
2. Assigning posts to a specific students: This is an awesome way to differentiate work! For writing assignments. I can give higher students a blank slate to take off running with and lower students scaffolded writing prompts!
3. Moving posts to the top of the stream: Well now I feel like an idiot for always telling my students to keep scrolling down until they find the assignment that we have been working on for some time. I can bring that assignment to the top before the lesson so my kids don't have to waste time searching for it!

1. I would definitely use the creating topics tip to organize my assignments and questions for later review and retrieval. 2. I love posting questions. I find that it engages students and gives them an opportunity to connect with each other and offer feedback. This builds classroom community and responsive learning and thinking. 3. Assigning to individual students and groups is great for differentiating work for the students and personalising their learning. 4. Saving drafts is a great help for long range planning for upcoming units and bends in our UOS.
