Some stereotypes that exist about homeless people are that they are lazy and don't want to work. Homeless people are all uneducated or homelessness is caused by lack of education. Many homeless people can't afford housing due to job loss, bills, and family. I think these are false because people don't choose to be homeless and some of them have jobs. They portray homeless people as alcoholics, drug addicts, and mentally ill. People who are homeless are ignored and looked upon as if they aren't human like everyone else. People think that homeless people are crazy and fiction people show how it is in real life to be mistreated. For example in The Glass Castle, The woman tried to hide from her homeless mother and acted like she didn't see or know who she was isn't that crazy?

Types of stereotypes that exist about homeless people are that they are drug addicts, they are too lazy to get a job, they are mentally ill, they are criminals, or that there bad choices led them to this situation. I think that they get those types of stereotypes because some of them are mentally ill but not all so and sometimes so of them are on the street because they became alcoholics and drug addicts. Homeless people are betrayed as drug addicts and bad on social media and movies because they are not seeing what is really going on and are not homeless so they are just showing what they think it is like. Real peoples stories differ from fictional ones because if it is actually from the person you are hearing most of the truth because sometimes they can add lies but fictional is only half real and most of the time none of it is true. An example from it ends with us to support what I have written is when Atlas tells Lily "It's always been me and my mom, but she got remarried about five years ago to a guy who never really liked me much. We fought a lot. When I turned eighteen a few months ago, we got in a big fight and he kicked me out of the house". This shows how most homeless people did not just choose to live on the streets and sometimes they were just forced out of there house.

Some of the stereotypes for homeless people is that homeless individuals are lazy or unwilling to work. Another stereotype for homeless people are they are drug addicts and or they are alcoholics for example "While some people become homeless because of mental illness and drug addiction, more than 75 percent simply can't afford a place to live." Another stereotype is that homeless people are dangerous, violent, or criminal. Some people think that being homeless is a result of personal choice or lifestyle. Another stereotype is some homeless people don’t want or don’t accept help when it’s offered.

Many people hold stereotypes about homeless individuals, thinking they are lazy, mentally ill, or addicted to drugs. Some also believe they are dangerous or untrustworthy. These ideas come from a lack of understanding, social block, and the tendency to oversimplify an issue. This often leads to focusing on individual behavior instead of looking at societal factors. In movies and TV shows, characters who are homeless are often shown struggling with addiction, mental health issues, or poor choices. This reinforces stereotypes rather than showing the real experiences of homeless people. In reality, their stories are diverse and often point to larger systemic issues, like economic hardship, lack of affordable housing, and inadequate mental health support. Recognizing these broader causes can help create empathy and drive real change.

The sterotypes the exist about homeless people are real but not all homeless individuals are faking it for money. This is because individuals are lazy and feel they can just have money given to them. In the media homeless individuals are portrayed is broke bums, this is because thats their apperance. Some individals have had stuff happen in the past that has affected their life. But for instance like in the "Glass castle" jenette's mother was homless simply just because she enjoyed it and she liked living on the streets not having to pay bills or taxes. While the individuals in "Life on the streets" all have backgrounds on what happened to them that made them homeless.

some stereotypes that are on homeless people are they are lazy, i think that stereotypes is still around because some homeless people don't try get help and it makes it seem they are lazy, homeless people are portrayed as some one we should feel bad for but we still don't do anything to help, fictional portrayals can make homeless look easier to get back up on your feet then it actually is For example, in The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, Jeannette’s parents choose to be homeless because its free will but from the outside they are looked at as the stereotype as lazy
