Reflective Journals
These journals are kept throughout the course of the year and are a way for students to write freely about their feelings or concerns on the lesson. Students may answer questions such as:
What predictions did you make about today's lesson? Correct or incorrect?
What parts were easy for you to understand? or difficult?
How does yesterday's and today's lessons related?
How can you improve? What did you do well on?
Only one of these questions should be answered while reflecting.
Knowledge Comparison
Students relate their current mastery of a goal to previous levels of mastery. Graphic organizers, charts, tables, and graphs can be used to display this data.

As mentioned in our text reflection is critical for teachers and important for students. Students may reflect on what they have learned and mastered or express a concern or problem they had with the material. Teachers can use this reflection to help guide them on where to go next with their students.
