The two were starting to rumble before Macbeth began to speak. They both had their swords and shields at the ready. Once Macbeth had finished speaking, they both swung at each other. The reader can witness how they acted before Macbeth was killed.

Significance of the quote

Shakespeare wrote this paragraph as the last scene before he killed off Macbeth from the play. It shows how Macbeth had truly lost it at this point. They end the paragraph with Macbeth and Macduff fighting which leads to Macduff cutting Macbeth's head off.

This quote represents when Macbeth was starting to go crazy after murdering Banquo. The only reason he had Banquo killed was because he was starting to catch on to Lady Macbeth's plan for the murder. Since Macbeth was stressing out so much after murdering people, he began to hallucinate Banquo even though he was dead.

The quote helps the audience see how Macbeth was struggling with everyday life after his wife made him commit the crime. The significance was that his life changed the second he stabbed the two people and had to lie about his knowledge of the incident.

The graphic novel gives a stronger representation once again. With the images being provided of Banquo being a bloody corpse, we can understand what Macbeth was truly seeing. I feel that just reading the original text without images to vision, it is more difficult to understand why Macbeth is behaving the way he was.

The original text gives a stronger representation. I say this due to the fact that the graphic novel has a different text than the original. You can see how Macduff is encouraging the citizens to allow him to reign. With the graphic novel, it doesn't show the significance.
