I really like this photo and I think is does a good job of showing what a manager does. Most people might think that managers just boss people around and never do real work, but the life of a manager can be extremely stressful and difficult. This picture shows just a little bit of the things a manager can do every day.

Management can be done in two ways, management as people or as a process. Management as people is giving the individual managers the power to make decisions. They have the knowledge of how the company works, the resources available, and are trusted with making the right decisions for the company. Management as a process requires a certain plan of action before any decision is made. This ensures the best path for the company to go down.

I did not realize just how much of an impact the WTO had on my life until I learned about it. That would cause us to miss out on a lot of cool things but also drive prices up exponentially.

This can be beneficial to the company and the consumer because it will bring lower prices.

The Planning Cycle is comprised of 6 parts. Define Objectives is the most important because you are deciding what you want to accomplish during the planning cycle. Develop Premises is the part where we look forward to see what internal and external factors could change and try to stop our plans. Evaluate Alternatives is where we list all of the possible ways to achieve our goal and choose which is the best one. Identify Resources is when we figure out what resources we need to execute the plan and how we are going to gather then. Establish Tasks is dividing the plan up into manageable parts and assigning them to different groups to get them done. Determine Tracking and Evaluation Methods is when we decide which tasks are most important and how we can track process throughout the plan.

Types of communication for a company include oral, written, and electronic. Oral communication is the fastest and most direct form of communication but can be difficult to tell everyone at once and the message can be skewed while it travels from person to person. Written communication is good because it is the exact same message for everyone, but it can take a while for people to get it. Electronic communication has become very popular for businesses over the last few years for a few good reasons. It is instantaneous, you can get the message to everyone at once, and the message stays the same for everyone. I personally believe electronic communication is the best way for a company to communicate.

Quality Control is something used by companies to test their products to make sure there is no issues with it before entering the market. Quality control really helps the company make sure the first impression for the customers is a good one. One example of a company that did not thoroughly check their products before releasing them is Samsung. In 2016, Samsung rushed the manufacturing of the Galaxy Note 7 in order to beat competition to the market. In doing so they did not do enough product testing and soon found that there was a major problem, the phones were catching on fire. They sold more than 3 million of these phones and they all had to be returned and the customers were given a full refund. Samsung has since recovered for the most part, but it is still widely known as the phone company whose phones caught on fire.

A company needs an objective and a plan on how to achieve it. As well as that they also need to uphold their standards. The standards of a company are the company's beliefs, values, and goals. Each company has in image of what they would like to be seen as by consumers, shareholders, and future investors. When a company has decided on their image, they then focus on objectives. Objectives are goals that they company wants to achieve.
