For me, social justice is where everyone's inherent value and equality is universally recognized. Any time someone works for that state of affairs, they are working for social justice. At Loyola, I see this in particular in students like you who ask the tough questions of themselves and others to push to that honesty where we can create an environment of safety and inclusion because everyone's voice can be heard and accepted. This is ideal, but I think there are many places to be hopeful.

Social justice, in my opinion, is a state in which groups are being liberated from the negative aspects that bedevil their community. Whenever a person is bringing attention to issues that marginalized communities face, he/she are fighting for the cause of social justice. Social justice is the solution to inequality, discrimination, and overall prejudice. I hope that I am able to grow as an advocate for social justice while at Loyola because of the emphasis placed on it by the university values as well as my passion for it.
