In today's world, we are all glued to our mobile devices; whatever they may be. I too am guilty of this attachment. It does not take long for my screen time to begin in a day. The new feature on apple devices that allows you to see your daily screen time and average screen time in a week is honestly eye-opening. As much as we all love our devices, it should be very important to ensure that we are not spending 70% of our time awake during the day staring at our screens! Some of the assignments have brought up things that teachers used for my classes in the past and I find that pretty awesome. My new knowledge of technology and how to appropriately apply it to educational related topics will help me greatly in my future of becoming an educator. Some of my favorite new things from this course is my knowledge of OER’S, especially the picture ones! These free pictures make a huge difference when creating Power Points. Another thing I really enjoyed is learning how to create a Kahoot! I had no experience creating them prior to this class and in my lesson plan. I enjoyed the style of this class and how it consisted largely of hands-on, trial and error, learning. Being able to test out all of the apps and tools during class time gave us all the opportunity to ask questions when we needed help. This class has effectively taught me how to use different apps and different styles to create educational tool The most interesting concept I will be taking from this class is the digital footprint. Learning about the digital footprint has been eyeopening. It is so important to know that what you post on the internet will remain there forever, even if you delete it - and that it will be accessible whenever it is being searched for.
