Conflict can be boiled down to being a serious disagreement occurring between two or more parties. This can be as small as an argument with friends, or as big as full on war between nations. In modern-day society, conflict can be seen everywhere. It affects the society we live in as it causes disruptions and injustice among its members.

There are many examples of conflict in the modern day. Some examples that are easier to spot within our context include discrimination on race, gender, religion and other aspects where members of a nation are belittled. We can clearly see this especially with recent events, such as the BLM movement. Aside from that, conflicts also consist of nationwide issues, and sometimes can even be international conflict. The war on drugs, and even past events such as the events that occured during martial law were things that affected our whole country. War as well is a variation of conflict, one that could affect millions, as well as several different conflicts.

Conflicts usually are caused by misunderstandings, or the overall tension of nations. Overall it can hurt a lot of people, with war being the biggest example and most extreme case on how people can get hurt with it. In our contexts, small conflicts can hurt friendships, relationships and our well being. We can also be affected by bigger conflicts as well, such as country-wide conflicts having an effect on most people in a nation, and in turn, us as well. As stated earlier, it also causes a lot of injustice. Some of the examples given earlier, such as racism and overall descrimination are prime examples of injustice being caused as these people end up being treated differently due to their religion, beliefs, skin color, gender, and other factors. Because of this, people try to fight against it in order to make things more fair, which can cause conflicts as well.
