I think that they were wrong. Taney was not wise. I would say that i think he got more people on his side at first but, then Taney came and started a new conversation. This may of got people to go over to his side and leave Scott. Now I would think Scott would have about 36 people on his side and 54 on Taney's side

I'm think that the Supreme Court made a wrong decision.I think Dred Scott should have earned his freedom. Referring back to the resources Taney made a whole new conversation after he wrote the letter. A lot of people might have been on Scott'said side but after what Taney did the people switched sides. I am thinking 5 on Scott and 95 on Taney (Supreme Court).

The Supreme Court made a very bad decision against Mr. Dred Scott. He was a resident of a state that banned slavery and he should have been given freedom as well as his entire family. This case was decided injusticely because it went against the US Constitution. Only 2 of the 9 Supreme Court Justices got it right.

I think this was one of the worst decisions ever made in the U.S. His master moved to free states and territorries, so, having lived in a free state, he should have been given his freedom. also, 5 out of the 9 justices were from the south, so they possibly have grown up with their parents owning slaves. Taney, one of the justices said that Dred Scott wasn't a citizen. The decision was basically saying there was no such thing as a free state.

I think that Taney and the Supreme Court made the wrong decision because what they call a free state is a place where slavery is not allowed but still slave owners brought their slaves to free states. Also 5 out of the 9 supreme court justices where southerners so they wanted slavery and blacks did not have rights. Also Taney's decision went against the Missouri Compromise. So Taney also proved that there is no such thing as a free state. So the decision was wrong, unfair, and went against the Missouri Compromise.

The supreme Court made a bad decision to not let Dred Scott free because with what Taney said "that he is a slave not a person" made people think what is a free state if owners can still have slaves in free state than there is no free states.
There was also 5 out of 9 justices that lived in the southern states so that made it unfair to Dred Scott Case unfair.
