Each team member must present a section of the work to be graded.

Worth 25% of each student's overall mark - participation is essential to qualify to pass this Unit.   

Choose a Business Case Study topic from the below :

(a) your team is a research agency pitching for a major contract to work with a new entertainment streaming service that is researching  and evaluating their potential entry to the Australian market. This new company - BTC (Better Than Chocolate) have asked you to explain in detail how you would research consumer interest in various new products, using qualitative and quantitative research design(s). Detail your objectives, proposed research methodologies  and each step of the proposed research process.

OR 

(b) your team is the comms agency for a worldwide airline  - Emirates. Your board has given your team the responsibility of rebuilding and even growing your customer base by in the next  two years. Following the pandemic, the world has changed and so have consumer expectations - the first step is to undertake comprehensive market research. Explain how your team will go about this to understand what airline customers want. Your research proposal will detail your objectives, your proposed research methodologies - qualitative and quantitative - and research design(s) that you will use. 

You will be presenting in class (online via Zoom) to your Lecturer and your classmates for 8-10 minutes, using a Canva, Powerpoint (or similar) presentation as a visual aid to your verbal presentation. Both elements – what your team presents and the way you present are important.

Please detail your rationale for each of your recommendations and choices. For example, is your recommended method qualitative, quantitative or both (mixed). How will you gather your research respondents? What questions will you ask? What do you expect to discover as you conduct this research? Why should the potential client choose you to win the business in this theoretical scenario?

Your Lecturer will mark your work based on your delivery of your presentation in class and also on the quality of the presentation that you prepare.

This is an essential class to attend, and your presentation must be ready – any students who are not ready to present will not be allowed to view other student teams presentations on this day.

This Assessment reflects the fact that in business, effective presentations are an important key to success. Students who actively learn the skill of preparing and presenting their work will find this a real advantage in their career.
