It is an expansion of the potential creativity mankind possesses, buried under unconscious grounds. The most-acclaimed forerunner of the movement is Salvador Dali, a Spanish artist. The piece shown below is named Galatea of the Spheres, a portrait of Dali's wife, Gala. The composition, consisting of many spheres, gives itself an infinite depth. I consider it to be very Escher-esque, but in a way, still holds a dear whimsicality one can find only in a dream.
