The story that I listened is The Fox and The Crow. The reasons why I like this story because of the main character of the story which is the Fox. The fox such as a good liar because it can deceive the Crow. This story tell us about how the fox use it’s ingenuity to lie to the Crow by telling her that she have a nice voice. However, before the Fox praise the Crow about her voice, he tell her that she have a beautiful plumage on her body. The words just to trap the Crow so that she will feel the all animals like her sings. But, the fact is instead. Besides, the reasons why I like the Fox is he knows that he can’t to climb the tree and if he want to take the cheese that in the Crow’s beak, he need to catch the Crow. But, he didn’t do that. He used his brain to take the cheese by doing the smooth way. Firstly by praise the Crow and after that ask her to sing a loud so that he can take away the cheese without he needs to trouble himself. The conclusion of this story is we as a human need to think many ways to solve our problems.

The first moral lessons that I learned from this story is we must not trust anybody if we already knew about themselves. Example like the dogs and the wolves. The dogs already knew about the wolves that will eat the flocks but they still deceived by the wolves. Besides, the wolves also persuaded the dogs by saying the dogs are very like them in most ways and they live a life of freedom, not like the dogs that enslaved to mankind. We as a human also do not trust it completely if someone praise us if we already knew about their attitude before this.

The second moral lessons is we must always alert even though we are in all circumstances. Example, the dogs not be careful of the wolves that wanted to eat their flocks. After the dog allowed themselves to be persuaded by the wolves’ words, the wolves set upon them and eat all of them. That’s what will happen if we are not be careful of ourself in a real life. Because, the bad people will always deceive us for their personal affairs.

The conclusion is we must be careful of others just to make sure that we are not being cheated by bad people

THE LION AND THE MOUSE

Based on the story that I had read, The Lion and The Mouse, there are a few moral values that we can take from the story. The first moral values is we must do not look down on someone just like The Lion that look down on The Mouse because The Mouse promise will repay back The Lion’s kindness. But, The Lion only laughed at him. The Lion though that the little mouse cannot do anything to help him who is the most violent animals in the jungle. Unfortunately, one day The Lion got entangled and The Mouse was the one who saved him. Just like us in a reality life, even the story are not real but we must take it as a lesson to us to not look down to every people that we meet.

Besides, the other moral values is we must always hold on to our promise that we made. Refer to the story, The Mouse finally can have a chance to help The Lion even he just heard The Lion’s roar. He can just ignore the sound but, he recognized that was The Lion’s roar and he knew that he indebted to pay back The Lion’s kindness because The Lion’s let him go in the past. Same as us now, we also must repay back the kindness to every person that merit to us.

Lastly, we must also doing good to others just like The Lion and The Mouse who were doing good to each other even different day.

ANSWER :

1. The first activity that assigned to me this semester and helped me increase my English skills is the activity that we need to do the video to promote the foods in Kedah. This activity is very vital to us because the needed us to speak fully in English. So of course we must to promote the food in Kedah. Futhermore, this activity helped us lot because we can make our English talking skills more fluent than before. This will help us in the future when we need to face the community. The second activity is when we were assigned to do the role play. Although the period that had given to us just only 5 minutes to discuss about the topics, but we still can manage and doing it by our own. The conclusion is our English skills were improved by doing these activities

QUESTION 2: Do you think the video uploads in Facebook have helped you in improving your speaking skills? How?

ANSWER:

2. The answer is yes. Because it helped me to improve my confidence to speak in the video without any doubt. Maybe before this, I’m always think that myself were not ready to speak and I’m very fear if there were any mistakes in my speech. So it makes my confidence were low. But by doing this sort of things, I can makes sure that I can speak without any doubt because all of my friends were also doing the same thing. So I’m not the one who is fear if there were any mistakes. Besides, I still can learn from the others video about how their mentioned the words, what words that they were used and others. Lastly, we could learned together by this activity because everyone were posted it in the Facebook, so that we can comment if there were any mistakes or we also could gave them any suggestions to improve their skills.

QUESTION 3: Describe your “Week Without Wall” (www) video project. How did the process of working on this video helped you to become an independent learner?

ANSWER :

3. Our ‘Week Without Walls’(www) video project was about to promote foods in Kedah. The process of working on this video helped me very much to become an independent learner because the lecturer just gave us the title and it’s up to me and my team to do it by our own. This project needed us to use our own money to go to the restaurant by using grab transport. Besides, we also needed to use our money to buy the foods and promoting it to others. So we can learned about how to become more independent in university life. The other things that we can learned was at the part that we need to edit the video because our lecturer did not mentioned how to do the video in detailed. So we need to edit our video using our own style. These were the reasons why the ‘Week Without Walls’ video project were really teaching us how to become an independent people.

QUESTION 4: Are you satisfied with your performance in ELC 121 especially in your speaking skills?

ANSWER :

4. Yes, I satisfied with my performance in ELC121, especially in my speaking skills. Because I felt that my speaking skills were improved day by day since I learned ELC121 this semester. But, I think my speaking skills still need to be improve because I still feel doubt to give a speech especially in front of the class. Besides, my grammar were still low compare to my fellow friends. So, I need to make sure that I could improve my grammar so that I will be more satisfied with my performance in ELC121. So, I will watch more English movies and hear more their songs just to make sure that I can get more improvement next semester.
