Our favorite vacation destination is the North Sea.

I live in early retirement due to an incurable illness, but motivate myself every day not to lose sight of the positive things in life. In free time and as my mobility allows, i design and manufacture pearl jewelry. Crocheting and knitting are also some of the things I spend my time with.

I've had a long love of "snail mail" knowing that people are excited to find something handmade/handwritten in their mail box (I certainly am!). However, I send much more than I receive, so I was happy to discover postcrossing in December of 2020.

Hello! I live in Saint Peterburg. I am a student, I study German literature. I enjoy watching movies, cooking, listening to rap music and traveling. My favourite movie directors are Kusturica, Haneke, Trier, Allen, P. A. Anderson. I am also interested in Wiener Moderne, its artists, writers and composers.

My favourite series are Shameless, The Big Bang Theorie, The Scrubs, Doctor Haus and Doctor Who (with Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant). The sence of humour of the main characters is extremely close to what I found funny in everyday life. 

I'm always happy to get tourist cards or cards, that are somehow connected to your cultural signs. Once I got a card with a drawn picture of the shop "Black Books" from London and it was love from the first sight! As my studies are somehow connected to art, I'll be grateful for pictures of writers, artists, directors, actors and actresses from your country. 

If you don’t know what to write on the card, please, recommend me your favourite book or movie. You can also tell me your secret or describe your past few days. I’ll be happy to get a card with lyrics of your favourite song or maybe a piece of your favourite poem. Maybe you want to tell me the most ridiculous and awkward story that ever happened to you or a national/family recipe? Everything that comes to your mind is great.

My name is Ria and I am from the South east of England, now living in Texas USA with my husband Michael who is retired USAF and our children who are 21, 20 and 14. Our family is complete with a few fur babies( a dog and a couple of cats).

I love writing in all forms- I have a few pen pals, write postcards and keep a daily journal. I'd love a few people to keep in touch with through e-mail/ snail mail and/or both.

- I love Nature and my garden- my garden brings me a lot of happiness. Most days you can find me in my garden and this year I started a veg garden. My indoor plants are mainly Phal (moth) orchids. probably have close to 30 right now.

- I like reading, stamps and postmarks, Genealogy, Fountain pens, Inks and wax seals. Adding a wax seal to my envelope is a great way to infuse a little fair and elegance into the act of mailing a letter, meeting friends, tea, collecting sand, Art, writing and collecting postcards...COMMUNICATION!

- I like postcards with vegetable & Garden, old houses, English countryside, bicycles, tea, mail-boxes, sheep, books, sunrise & sunsets.

- I'm a big fan of recycling and creativity- I enjoy a handmade postcard once in a while.

- Marc chagall, Pablo picasso, Henri matisse, Georgia o'keeffe are some of my favorite artists

- I'm a gemini who loves the outdoors and the chance to travel. 

- my favorite color is different shades of blue when I write with a fountain pen and I like silver/gray.

- If you like railroads & trains, or calligraphy or belly dancing, yes, I absolutely want to know that!

42 year old married ornithologist, working in San Diego, California.
