Trace on white paper the eyes/mouth Then, cut sponges into strips. </p></li><li><p>Set out the following supplies on a table: White paper, the traced black construction paper, scissors, the sponges in strips, glue sticks, paint, and paper plates. Instruct students to grab one piece of white paper, the traced black construction paper of their choice, the matching, traced, white paper, 1 sponge strip, scissors, a glue stick, and 1 paper plate for their table (1 plate per 2 students). </p></li><li><p>Go around and ask students what color(s) that they would like to paint with and pour some onto their paper plates. </p></li><li><p>Instruct students to dip their spounge in paint and stamp the sponge on the white piece of paper to form a circle. Students may use as many colors as they would like. Add a variety of Pumpkins to the brown fabric. They will be assigned into two groups: Group 1 &amp; Group 2. </p></li><li><p>Group 1 will be the customers. Explain what a customer is and what they do. (The words on the sight reading mat correlate with words in the book.) </p></li><li><p>The first word on the mat is "spider". Read the word aloud and clap to syllables to show an example. The students will then, as partners, put the number of connector blocks that correlate with the number of syllable that the word has. Read the next word aloud and have the class clap the syllables of the word. Then, add orange food coloring and let sit for an hour. Drain the water and allow for the rice to dry. </p></li><li><p>Next, spray paint or paint the bow tie pasta black and allow for it to dry. </p></li><li><p>All the rice into your sensory bin and add the bow ties on top. Mix them together. First, pour in equal amounts of glue into the cups (1 cup for each student). Then mix in 2 TBS of glow-in-the-dark glue. Next, make cups with 2 squirts of contact solution. For example, if you have 10 students make 10 cups of the glue mixture and make 10 cups of the contact solution. Finally, set out popsicle sticks to mix the slime. </p></li><li><p>Have a section of students come up one at a time to grab one cup of the glue mixture, one cup of contact solution, and one popsicle stick.  </p></li><li><p>Go around to each student's desk and ask what color they want. Then, add two drops of food coloring of their choice. </p></li><li><p>Instruct students to mix their glue mixture with the food coloring.
