Given that I was able to recognize how cybercriminals operate, I can formulate methods on how to protect not only myself but also other netizens. The most pivotal of them all, as cliché as it may sound, is to fact-check. If I were to be asked about what is the most essential learning in Media Information Literacy, is that fake news is everywhere and limitless is an understatement as a description. With that, we must take a stand to combat these false pieces of information as they can potentially harm many, rupture the very fabric of society, and threaten the peace and ordinance that have been maintained for decades.

Through the class Media Information Literacy, a class in which I am currently enrolled in Grade 11, my perception of media's role in society has changed. It served as an eye-opener for me about the reality not only limited in the context of the Philippines, but around the globe as well. With it, I became equipped on how to battle fake news by rendering me to be a critical thinker and utilizing tactics on how to eradicate them so that many would not have to bear its consequences when victimized.

Media Information Literacy is not just a subject; it is the foundational truth about media itself. It can prepare an individual for treacherous encounters on the internet -- the most prevalent medium of information. I have learned new pieces of knowledge and skills in MIL; these are mainly fact-checking and critical thinking. These two are essential as it is the sword and shield against fake news -- a predominant issue in the world.
