1) I don't agree with the moral sphere chart's organization , and here's why. The sphere is going to be different for every individual as some people consider the environment more important than say strangers and other groups. Every Individual's morals are different so it is hard to make a general structure that represents everyone accurately. Personally I would not change the order but that doesn't mean others wouldn't.

2) I think it would be ethical to switch the path of the trolley, but it wouldn't be ethical to throw the larger man off the bridge to stop it. This is because I lean more towards Kant's ideas and deontology. I think the action itself and the outcome matter and because switch the lever is more ethical than pushing someone of the bridge, flipping the switch should be the solution. Because I personally agree with the structure of the moral sphere if it was someone I knew I would probably save them over the other people.

It should be treated as a cost-benefit analysis. Will the further design and continuation of technology benefit more lives then it will negate? Will it save more lives than it takes? I believe if the benefits outweigh the costs/consequences then it is a means to continue development. Otherwise, it's a means to stop the production of the technology if it negatively affects more lives than it benefits. To someone who only sees the negatives of tech should also try to see the good technology has done and brought humanity to where it is today.

- This week's Lecture was about the idea of how responsible are engineers and designers for the inventions that they create. This idea was looked at through the Challenger disaster resulting in 7 astronauts dying, and at the company who dual used a lice killer (Zyklon B) to kill millions in the holocaust. Each of these example make us think of Engineer's moral responsibility in their design and how their main goal should be to meet Cicero's Creed.

Meaning only those rich enough could buy a kidney and live while others would not be able to afford to be saved.
- If it is generalized, doctors or brokers might try to cut corners in the surgeries and application of livers being in a free market
- even in an economically equal society, there will still be exploited, especially for something like selling human organs.

2. Connect these objections to the concepts from Chapter Two. Which concept/s seem to be most in play here?
- These objections mostly come from either a deontologist ideology or a consequentialist ideology. A deontologist would argue the action of selling human parts or our bodies for sex is immoral and can be exploitive. While a consequentialist may see livers in a free market as a good thing as more lives can be saved with a higher supply.

What obligation do you have to your fellow Orediggers to stop racist and biased behavior on campus? Is this a personal issue, an institutional issue, or both? How do these stories demonstrate or reflect the types of biases and racisms described above?
- I'll always look at race through a color-blind lens as MLK Jr. preaches. People should not be judged based on the color of their skin, but rather the content of their character. I don't care how much melanin someone has in their skin. Instead, I will perceive them for who they are as a person.
- Race politics is only further dividing people to identify only with people of the same color skin as them rather than diversifying. Thus in this case is an institutional problem while racism itself or hating someone for the color of their skin is individual. The statements definitely show disturbing individual racist encounters that should be stoped and condoned. However this can be hard to do as you cannot change individual biases easily and race nowadays is highly politicized.

Confucian ethics is quite different from its western counterparts. One difference being moral decisions are made based on relationships we have with each other, the context of a situation, and the roles we have in those relationships. For example in the sheep example, because we take on the role of a son/daughter, we have to consider the role we play when it comes to our father. Also context matters, (e.g. whether he stole the sheep for enjoyment vs needing to feed the family as he lost his job). Putting these all together will lead to the right moral decision being made according to these ethics. Where there is also a difference between western and Confucian ethics is the end goals. Western ethics propose we should try to provide ethics to everyone while Confucian focuses more on the Individual and how their paper ethically fulfillment of their roles will carry on to everyone they interact with.

This is probably due to more lighter-skinned people making up more of the population than minority races groups with darker skin. Thus, it may be in the best interest of these designers to test lighter faces and skin tones than darker which can be unethical. Also, it is very hard to train a neuro network to identify just faces to a certain sex/gender.
- That data can be used against you in some way or sold to other people to group you into advertising groups.
- A more just way to get past this ethical problem would be to equally test all racial types and skin colors when training the neuro network.

The scientists' reactions show them almost in denial or trying to tell themselves that there was nothing they could do to stop this and trying not to guilt themselves over their contribution to nuclear weaponry. Thus, when they continued to develop after d-day and when Germany dropped out of the war, they went past the bomb's intended purpose and were designing instead for technological advancement (ignoring the ethics).

Going further, do you know where your drinking water comes from? If you do know where your water comes from, how did you learn this information? If you don’t know where your water comes from, why don’t you? And would you call that an engineering success, an engineering failure, or something else entirely?

- Rivers/drinking water
- Green grass
- Animal products

- I've lived in Colorado my whole life and most of the time I've heard and been told by my parents and peers that most of my drinking water comes from the mountains (e.g. snow melt and springs). One way I also know this is from the marketing on my favorite bottle water brand Arrowhead which praises itself being fresh Mountain Springwater. I would call this as an engineering success for the most part more than I saw it before, especially with how blind we are to how great it is for us to have water in one of the driest states in the US. Not knowing where your drinking water comes from is not good as you don't know what you are contributing to or what and where what you put in your body is coming from. Most people might forget but should keep in mind what they are putting in their body and how it is effecting not only them, but also their surroundings.

Reflect: Imagine a geographic scenario where the Colorado River ended in Southern California rather than across the United States border in entirely different country (Mexico). If the community of San Luis Rio Colorado were instead Los Angeles or San Diego, would the condition of the river’s delta be different? Why or why not? Work the concept of “environmental justice” into your answer.

Also, if the community was located at the end of the river no pulsing would be needed either for the community to flourish and enjoy the flow from the river.. Thus, it is necessary to include all communities even of different countries in this case if they have equal access to the nature given o them. Now that engineering allows us to control the flow of nature and river flow, we need to make sure everyone still has equal access to water as before interference was made to the flow of the river.

This was y first impression of Globeville and I definitely see the environmental injustice that has happened there throughout its history of the smelting industry.
- Some of these issues reminded me of our very first readings in class and discussions we had about California and the environmental injustice there

I think those in environmental-based studies and majors definitely have a huge role in addressing these issues as it is a part of the problem solving needed for their pathway and topic for discussion in the field. A way graduates could play a role is by creating solutions to solve these problems and doing research to bring awareness to make changes where they need to be made in order to prevent future environmental problems and current ones.

- I definitely did as well/better than I thought I would on this paper. I het all the points I needed in the rubric to get a good grade. However where I struggled was I had a few proofreading errors hat lost me points. I did look over this paper a lot and had another person look over it, but I definitely could have had it looked at by the writing center.
